Historia
While the 20th century was often a time of turbulence, selfishness, godlessness, and violence, Mother Teresa of Calcutta was a witness to love. She was a clear reminder of the goodness within human nature and the beauty of being truly open to God. "Mother" was her religious title, but as she ascended to the world stage, it became her role for the world - to be like a mother to all, no matter their origins. She was accepting and welcoming towards all people, not only towards the good or the like-minded. She continues to serve as an inspiration to people of all walks of life.

Could not listen to this: the mispronunciations are so glaring
Revisado: 04-22-25
The mispronunciations by the reading are so appalling that I just couldn’t listen to the content. Beatified is one thing, beautified is another. The reading is cringeworthy. I will find this one and read it myself.

Historia
Hannah Thomas believes she’s escaped Galen Wright’s evil intentions by marrying an older lighthouse keeper. Seemingly safe in faraway Massachusetts, her world is upended when John is killed in one of the first battles of the Revolutionary War. She thinks her loneliness will subside when her younger sister arrives, but she finds Lydia’s obsession with Galen only escalates the dangerous tides swirling around her. A stormy night brings a shipwrecked sea captain to Hannah’s door, and though he is a Tory, her heart is as traitorous as the dark-eyed captain.

Oh my gosh. I just love the series but I just can’t even get started with this narrator. I will have to buy the book and read it myself.

Historia
How did Hawaii become part of America? This story, inspired by true events suppressed for nearly 100 years, is the one James Michener never wrote. In 1886, Laura Jennings travels to Hawaii to live with missionary relatives. She imagines she’ll live in a grass hut, ministering to uncivilized locals. When she arrives in Honolulu, she’s surprised to find her relatives are among the wealthy elite plotting to overthrow the Hawaiian monarchy. And the Hawaiians have developed a charming and prosperous Victorian kingdom.

Great story
Revisado: 11-17-20
This is a well written story about the stealing of the Hawaiian islands by greedy Americans. The horrible injustices done to the rulers is a story that bears retelling

Why so graphic?
Revisado: 06-21-20
This series has been great but why make the shift to such a sexual graphics version? Totally unnecessary and poorly written. Did Katherine Lowry Logan really write this? Or perhaps someone else posed as her? This is so different than any of the previous books, and certainly not in a good way. I am not so sure I will bother with the next one. Unfortunate because the story itself was good. Too bad you had to ruin it.
