I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down... it is an amazing account of the resiliency of a young girl. I felt it was living it with her. The narrator Siri did a spectacular job. I thought she was the author.

I had never heard this story of Roosevelt. It was fascinating on so many levels. The description of the trip down the Amazon, discovering a new river, the absolute uniqueness of the land, water, people. Was like reading an adventure novel, but better given it was true. Could not put it down!

LOVED this book, and, especially with Leah reading it.. how refreshingly honest, self aware, down to earth.and extremely funny in spite of the frightening expose of Scientology. just the kind of person youdm'd want to have you back and hang out with. I could not put it down. the power of the scientology 'church' - rather cult, in the community is frightening. you will learn alot, come away with great respect for leah and some others who stood up, and hopefully lose respect for Tom Cruise and some others in Hollywood.

you will learn alot, will likely shift your perspective on how you or your family will want to be 'handled' after death. I laughed out loud ALOT. I was surprised, not typical...I couldn't help myself. the author is the narrator; she does an amazing job!

Different than I expected, AND LOVED IT! BUY IT!

If you could sum up Thru-Hiking Will Break Your Heart in three words, what would they be?
I'd read other books on thru hiking, on the Appalachian Trail. This book was very different. It took me a chapter or so to get into it, and was so worth it. Such a great story of tenacity, friendship, being human. thank you Carrot for sharing your personal journey.
