Historia
Past midnight, Chyna Shepard, twenty-six, gazes out a moonlit window, unable to sleep on her first night in the Napa Valley home of her best friend’s family. Instinct proves reliable. A murderous sociopath, Edgler Foreman Vess, has entered the house, intent on killing everyone inside. A self-proclaimed “homicidal adventurer,” Vess lives only to satisfy all appetites as they arise, to immerse himself in sensation, to live without fear, remorse, or limits, to live with intensity. Chyna is trapped in his deadly orbit.

I couldn’t stand this book. OMG, this heroine??? of the book was beyond stupid, she didn’t have the brains God gave a chicken! She’s so brave, then she’s so scared, honestly, I wouldn’t trust her to take care of my pet bug. So disappointed that Dean Koontz wrote this crap 💩 YUCKKKKK🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

I really disliked the religion factor, and was surprised by how easily the mom could leave her children. It was a great book and really was something that the family rode it through all of the tough times and lots of loving times, too.

Historia
Patric Gagne realized she made others uncomfortable before she started kindergarten. Something about her caused people to react in a way she didn’t understand. She suspected it was because she didn’t feel things the way other kids did. Emotions like fear, guilt, and empathy eluded her. For the most part, she felt nothing. And she didn’t like the way that “nothing” felt.

I felt that she had a lot of love from her mother at an early age, then after the divorce, things got so out of hand for her. But, I loved the way she figured herself out, and stood up for herself. She was so honest, when a lot of people didn’t want honest, they just wanted her to change. I’m so thankful that she found her way out without too many scars. Patric was a fierce warrior, if you want my opinion. Susan Shepard

I disliked the way he didn’t mind the people that he hurt, the way he destroyed fine art. Honestly, it was hard to listen to his voice because all you could hear was how proud he was of himself. Susan Shepard

Historia
In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new development, the last thing they expected to find was a skeleton at the bottom of a well. Who the skeleton was and how it got there were two of the long-held secrets kept by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighborhood where immigrant Jews and African Americans lived side by side and shared ambitions and sorrows. Chicken Hill was where Moshe and Chona Ludlow lived when Moshe integrated his theater and where Chona ran the Heaven & Earth Grocery Store.

Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.

Historia
Have you ever wondered "Why did I do that?" or "Why can't I just control my behavior?" Others may judge our reactions and think, "What's wrong with that person?" When questioning our emotions, it's easy to place the blame on ourselves; holding ourselves and those around us to an impossible standard. It's time we started asking a different question. Through deeply personal conversations, Oprah Winfrey and renowned brain and trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry offer a groundbreaking and profound shift from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”
