Cosmos is one of the bestselling science books of all time. In clear-eyed prose, Sagan reveals a jewel-like blue world inhabited by a life form that is just beginning to discover its own identity and to venture into the vast ocean of space.

Egotism overloaded??
Revisado: 09-27-19
I was really looking forward to this read but find myself extremely disappointed because it appears that the only way Carl knows to prove the power science is to be anti-God. If water and oil can coexist in the same cup, then so can science and religion. God isn't anti-science; however science is the shadow cast by God's creations. Science is basically the act of looking at ones shadow to determine the existence of one self. It is always a derivative of the original.-- never independent of it!

Historia
A major North American hydroelectric dam is blown up and the largest off-shore oil field in this hemisphere is destroyed in a brutal, coordinated terrorist attack. But there was one factor that the terrorists didn't take into account when they struck the Capitana platform off the coast of Colombia—slaughtering much of the crew and blowing up the platform—and that was the Capitana crew chief Dewey Andreas. Dewey, former Army Ranger and Delta, survives the attack, rescuing as many of his men as possible. But the battle has just begun.

Revisado: 07-24-16
I think this is the most boring sci if novel I have come by, that is think but not know for certain because I gave up at the 10 hour mark.
If u want a very very interesting and long sci fi novel try. Stephen Moss's Fear series: Fear the Sky, Fear the Survivors & Fear the Future

Historia
This magnificent novel is about the murder of a miserly, aged pawnbroker and her younger sister by a radical, destitute St. Petersburg student named Raskolnikov, and the emotional, mental, and physical effects that follow. It is a remarkable masterpiece about a man's turbulent inner life and his relationship to others and to society at large. Dostoevsky explored the human condition on many levels in this great piece, and among the main themes the novel explores is the rather strange theory that criminals have a spiritual need to be punished - that indeed they demand it.

What a egotistical narrator
Revisado: 07-24-16
The narrator is full of himself. I never bought any other Audible book where the narrator pretty much shits on author of the book he is narrating. This narrator did this as an 8 minute prologue.
