Enjoyable, but already a fan
Revisado: 03-03-13
I have been a fan of the series since it began on AMC. So, the book was an easy sell for me. I was fascinated by the back story, or prequel, giving some insight to the governors pschykey.

Historia
Eerie, dreamlike, set in a world that is weirdly related to our own, The Gunslinger introduces Roland Deschain of Gilead, of In-World that was, as he pursues his enigmatic antagonist to the mountains that separate the desert from the Western Sea in the first volume of The Dark Tower series. Roland, the last gunslinger, is a solitary figure, perhaps accursed, who with a strange single-mindedness traverses an exhausted, almost timeless landscape of good and evil.

First step in a great saga

Immersive with some connections to Kings other books. My second time reading this series is no less exciting than my first.

Thanks Stephen. ... As always!
Revisado: 12-02-12
Stephen king has never let me down. Some complain about the amount of detail, but that is really what brings it into focus. The depth of the story is not common with any other writer and that's what brings me back.

Well done, as usual!
Revisado: 08-09-12
This really pulls me in, like all the Dresden Files. These stories bring humanity and realism to the supernatural.

Historia
Jake Sullivan is a licensed private eye with a seriously hardboiled attitude. He also possesses raw magical talent and the ability to make objects in his vicinity light as a feather or as heavy as depleted uranium, all with a magical thought. It's no wonder the G-men turn to Jake when they need someoneto go after a suspected killer who has been knocking off banks in a magic-enhanced crime spree.

Epic
Revisado: 09-26-11
This breaks new ground by the merging of many different ideas of fact and fiction. This has something for every fiction reader out their. I am so glad that this already has a "Book 1" in the title. I can not wait for the next installment. This writer breaks new ground with a mix of magic, super heroes and monsters. Even his involvement of real historical characters ignites the imagination. Don't hesitate. The first book is worth the leap of faith.
