Historia
Isabella Shay is usually a very honest person. But when she's running late for her first day at a dream job and the barista yells for "Amy" three times with no answer, she does the unthinkable. Izzy takes that PSL. But when she turns around and runs directly into the most attractive man she's ever seen, spilling the drink all over his GQ shirt and tie, she ends up having the ultimate meet-cute. Sparks fly and things feel beyond promising until he says the words, "See you tomorrow, Amy." Uh, oh-she'll definitely have to straighten him out the following day.

Such a fun feel good story
Revisado: 01-15-25
Such a great meet cute. Their chemistry is electric and their banter so funny.
I immediately connected with Izzy, AKA, Amy. She is so comfortable in her own skin, so goofy and fun! Blake is equally loveable, he is a serious business exec who can definitely let loose and have fun.
It has just a tad of spice 🌶️/5
They are absolutely adorable together, making this book an easy 5 stars! Such a fun feel good story.

A well crafted story with great narration

Nora is a child protective services agent with her own heartbreaking past. When the family of an influencster all die in a suspicious plane crash, Nora is devastated since she played a role in putting the family together.
As Nora digs in the accident, the truth is unveiled and it left me completely shocked and devastated.
Where They Lie is dark, disturbing and so very sad. In all the best ways. This one sill sit with you for a while and crush your soul a little bit.
Nora is a great character and I loved learning about her backstory, also heartbreaking.
It's the start of a new series and I'm excited to spend time with Nora again.
I have listened to this narrator before and found her to be perfect here.

A great series start
Revisado: 02-01-24
I enjoyed this mystery/thriller set in small town Michigan.
Emily is called home, leaving behind her big city life in Chicago, when her dad, the coroner, has a heart attack.
She is tasked to step in on his behalf on a local case where a teenager died unexpectedly.
I liked the small town feel, the imperfect relationship between Emily and her dad, and how the people from Emily's past welcomed her back with open arms.
The characters made this book.

Historia
After three disastrous marriages, a series of bad dates, and a tumultuous relationship with an emotionally abusive mother, psychology professor Nancy Jewel is through with love and commitment. Romantic or familial, the notion is a waste of her time. Content with being alone, she’s starting to feel normal-ish when she learns her father, incarcerated in Georgia, has been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Perfectly narrated
Revisado: 04-02-23
Maybe She'll Stay is Robyn Lucas's 2nd book. I absolutely loved her first book and jumped on at the chance to read her second.
Nancy is unlucky in love and has become a commitment phobe after three divorces. Her lack of success in the love department probably comes from her childhood. Growing up, her family was extremely dysfunctional, with a verbally abusive mom and an incarcerated dad.
When a family crisis strikes, Nancy is forced to reopen old wounds. She is also forced to lean on others for help.
Nancy was a complicated character, and much of her relationships with her parents resonated with me, despire is following different paths in love.
I loved watching the evolution of Nancy's character, her growth, vulnerability and trust.
The story lines in Robyn Lucas' two books are very different but what they do have in common is covering tough subjects with complex characters.
Robyn Lucas is a skilled writer and great storyteller. I will be anxiously awaiting her next book.

A perfectly narrated light and fun story
Revisado: 03-30-22
Starr Valentine is miss popular, head cheerleader, homecoming queen and dating the star of the high school football team. Nobody can dispute how beautiful she is. But that changes when she finds out her family are refugees from a planet called Vega and her mother is THE QUEEN!
That means Starr is a real life princess! What could be better that that? Now that Vega is safe, the royal family is ready to return home, but something seems off on Vega. Starr doesn't seem to have her STAR power, she no longer turns heads. Something is surely amiss on this planet.
This was a cute YA book which brings the message "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" to life. It had a touch of love, mystery and action. A fun, light hearted and entertaining book, with perfect narration.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

Great content comes across disjointed in audio
Revisado: 02-14-21
As a huge fan of Matthew McConaughey, I jumped at the chance to hear him narrate his book for hours. I was also intrigued about his Greenlight philosophy after hearing a brief interview with him on the Calm app.
I loved hearing about how he got to where he is. He is a grounded, deeply spiritual person, focused on family. Unfortunately, I don't think audio is the best format for this. There are little snippets woven into the story such as bumper sticker quotes and they come across as very disjointed in the audio version.
