Preachy story

The author seems to think she must explain the “moral” of the story instead of trusting the listener would discern the meaning. As the listener, I found this annoying and insulting. For the writer, it makes her either a preacher or insecure in her storytelling abilities. The story was interesting and engaging but with every chapter’s lesson that the author drops in attributed to no one in the story, the story arc is interrupted—too many times to read any further. I’m returning this title to Audible.

I Love the Sullivan's

This latest in the Sullivan's in Seattle series doesn't disappoint. I enjoyed the custom sailboat backstory.

Eva Kaminiski is one of my favorite narrators. Looking forward already to hearing what romantic match-making Bella Andre creates next.

Beautiful Series

What made the experience of listening to Beautiful Beginning the most enjoyable?

The author tells the stories in this series from the hero's perspective in his voice but this book adds in the heroine's perspective as well making the story all the more juicier.

What about Grace Grant and Sebastian York ’s performance did you like?

Great narrators!

I greatly enjoyed the entire Beautiful series (hated to see it come to an end but does it have to?) I will look for more of Christina Lauren's books as they make their way to Audible.

A Satisfying Series

Would you consider the audio edition of Forever Black to be better than the print version?

I have not read any of this series in print; however, I love the use of two narrators (both are excellent) and the author's use of speaking from both character's perspectives. That's what made this series really enjoyable to the conclusion (and a very satisfying conclusion.)

Who was your favorite character and why?

The narrators - they really brought the characters to life as well as making the author's words sing.

Based on this series, I will check out more of Sandi Lynn's books as they make their way to Audible. I hope she employs similar writing perspectives and the same narrators!

Love Story With Africa

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I listened to this book because it was a book club's selection. I always enjoy personal narratives. This story is told by Levi Benkert as seen through his eyes only. However, I think the story would have been stronger if I could have heard his wife's and family's perspectives as well.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It's not the ending that's a shocker but the opening description of the horrors of infant genocide practiced in Ethiopia.

Was No Greater Love worth the listening time?

Yes, the book stimulated a great book club conversation and unquestionably Levi Benkert has a heart for God and the people of Ethiopia.

A great true story for any book club.

Romantic Football Series

I enjoyed this book as much as Bella Andre's other books. This is book one in the Bad Boys of Football Series. Alas the rest of the series is not available on Audible. I hope this changes.
