Historia
On Vega III, where the jaded inhabitants pursue lives of malicious intrigue and decadent pleasure, Lady Nimisha Boynton-Rondymense has always been an anomaly. Disdainful of the frivolity of her fellows, she prefers the exciting and challenging world of her father, Lord Tionel, owner and principal starship designer of the famous Rondymense shipyards.

Excellent story and narration!
Revisado: 08-07-22
I wish there were sequels to this book. I've listened to it 4 times already and will probably do so again. Character development was so well done I could feel what each person in the story was feeling.
The editing was not well done with many mistakes of time and sequence , but the essence of the story was riveting.
Susan Erickson was outstanding as usual.

Historia
Eleven-year-old Jake’s life has just turned upside-down. His father was wounded in Afghanistan, and his mother is going to leave to care for him. That means Jake’s spending the summer on tiny Dewees Island with his grandmother. The island is a nature sanctuary - no cars or paved roads, no stores or restaurants. To make matters worse, Jake’s grandmother doesn’t believe in cable or the internet. Which means Jake has no cell phone, no video games...and no friends. This is going to be the worst summer ever!

Perfect! An inspiration for children of all ages!
Revisado: 07-04-21
Although the story was written from Jake's perspective, Little Lovie loomed large. I felt I knew her already from the beach house series. I laughed at their antics, cried through their pain, and rejoiced as they overcame challenges together.
Having followed the IOP turtle team from my home in Connecticut for years, I could easily imagine the joy the kids felt as they embraced their role as "The Dawn Patrol" .
Another well written story weaving family trials, the joy of friendship, and the emotional impact of nature. This time through the eyes of children.

Humane, raw, and very relevant
Revisado: 05-14-21
Excellent insight in to sibling relationships while also exploring consequences of caustic discrimination by others.
I did miss Isthia Raven in this book, though her influence is felt in the way Damia and Afra interact with their children.

Could have done without the physical abuse
Revisado: 02-06-21
The back story was intriguing. Loved seeing the skills and competence of Mike filled out in this book. She's a crackerjack agent! Had to skip past the physical abuse inflicted on Sophie. Too close to home.

Riveting story telling as usual. Love the character development from one book to the next. I thought the female narration in Labyrinth was better than in this one, but that's just me. As always, though the flawless weaving of stories was excellent!

A bit dark for my taste
Revisado: 07-31-19
I have tried 3 times to read this through, but always end up skipping over dark parts. As always with this series, narration was wonderful.
I finally read it all the way through. It was actually pretty good, though not as good as the other books in this series.
