Historia
Welcome to Maple Street, a picture-perfect slice of suburban Long Island, its residents bound by their children, their work, and their illusion of safety in a rapidly changing world. But menace skulks among this exclusive enclave. When the Wilde family arrive, they trigger their neighbors’ worst fears. Dad Arlo’s a gruff has-been rock star with track marks. Mom Gertie’s got a thick Brooklyn accent, with high heels and tube tops to match. Their weird kids cuss like sailors. They don’t fit with the way Maple Street sees itself.

absolutely compelling!
Revisado: 04-29-21
This is one of the finer audiobook performances I have ever had to privilege and listening to. compelling from start to finish, this story is so well wrought. The characters are realistic and believable, and said against a near future of radical climate change, it is completely believable. excellent book, I highly recommend!

Good information, not so great reader
Revisado: 08-24-20
as I'm working on a major lifestyle change, I am very appreciative of books such as this one that helped me work through all the mental and emotional baggage that I'm carrying around. It's not just weight that I carry, it's all the bad messaging that has led me to this point. So that being said, I do appreciate what this author had to share and found some of it very enlightening. Some information was was a bit repetitive as I've heard it before from other authors. But I really can't fault the writer for that, there's only so much information out there because no one wants to talk about this topic. I was disappointed with the reader. her overall tone and sadly the voice / accent mimicry were really off. It was frankly off-putting but not so much that I couldn't continue to listen to the book. If you're looking for information, this is a good source. If you're looking for a very well read book, this is not it.

Historia
When Freya Miller is struck by tragedy, losing her husband and her home within a short time, she is burdened with many worries. The main one being where she and her five-year old daughter, Skye, are going to live. A chance meeting with the charismatic Dr Marsden changes all that. He offers the young mother the most amazing opportunity: an apartment at one of London’s most exclusive addresses for a fraction of the market rental cost. It’s an offer Freya simply can’t refuse.

Excellent read!
Revisado: 08-20-20
I'm a fan of psychological thrillers, and somehow have never read anything by this author yet. I am so glad I took a chance on this book. It was an excellent read, the narration was spot on and the story well let's just say it built and built and the final moments were perfect. Sometimes when authors do a dual story ( one in the past one in the present) It can make the story seem cheap and not flow well. In this case, it was perfectly done. I will certainly be seeking out more titles by this author.
