Historia
Although parenting approaches change, attitudes about only children remain stuck in the past. The negative stereotypes - lonely, selfish, bossy, spoiled, socially maladjusted - make parents think their child will be at a disadvantage when compared to those who grow up with siblings. The Case for the Only Child debunks the myths, taking into account the many changes the nuclear family has experienced in the face of two-family incomes, women who have children later, and the economic reality of raising children in our modern world.

Look around you. Artificial intelligence is no longer just a futuristic notion. It's here right now - in software that senses what we need, supply chains that "think" in real time, and robots that respond to changes in their environment. Twenty-first-century pioneer companies are already using AI to innovate and grow fast. The bottom line is this: Businesses that understand how to harness AI can surge ahead. Those that neglect it will fall behind. Which side are you on?

I laughed and cried and couldn't stop listening
Revisado: 11-22-18
I downloaded this book because so many people were posting about it on social media. I wanted to understand what all the hype was about. On a whim, I downloaded the book and listened to it as I drove on an out of town business trip. I couldn't stop listening. I listened in my car, walking down the street and in the coffee shop, I listened to it in my hotel room and even while I ran on the treadmill. I couldn't put it down. I laughed out loud several times, I giggled and I cried. I was able to relate to Rachel on so many levels and understand why so many of my friends were reading the book. What I learned from this book...A LOT...But here are 2 things...first, my tribe is one of the most important things to me and I will continue to invest in them because without them I was lost. Second, LET IT GO! We all do stupid at times...pick yourself up, laugh and keep living. I wasn't looking for a self-help book, but this was a good read at just the right time for this girl (who just turned 39).

Historia
Dozens of times per day, we all interact with intelligent machines that are constantly learning from the wealth of data now available to them. These machines are remaking the world of the 21st century in the same way that the Industrial Revolution remade the world of the 19th century. AIQ is based on a simple premise: If you want to understand the modern world, then you have to know a little bit of the mathematical language spoken by intelligent machines. AIQ will teach listeners that language - but in an unconventional way, anchored in stories rather than mathematics.

Enjoyed the first few chapters
Revisado: 11-22-18
I enjoyed the first few chapters as it helped me understand some of the more intricate details about advanced technology. The audio is ready by different narrators, which is odd. I enjoyed Nick Polson's narration, but after Nick stopped reading, I lost interest. The content got very technical and too deep for me at this point in my learning about advanced technologies. I'll keep this book in my library and come back to it if I ever need to dive deeper into understanding. If you are just learning and understanding advanced technology, I'd suggest listening to the first few chapters only. If you are a developer, analyst or in another field where you need to know the full ins and outs of advanced technologies and how the interrelate, then this book is for you.

Revisado: 11-22-18
Good read for those just starting the healing process. I read this several years ago when beginning my healing process. It was invaluable to helping me understand what I was going through, validated my feelings and set me on a path/gave me direction. I came back to the audio version (6 years later) as life changes have presented issues once again. I'm not finding the book as helpful the second time around, but listening to it reminded me of areas where I was slipping, which resulted in some of the issues I'm facing again.

Appreciated this book and author's POV
Revisado: 11-22-18
This is exactly the type of book I was looking for...not a "parenting book" but a book that helped me understand how parenting styles can influence a child's development and the outcomes it can have. I appreciated the way this author presented the information about a child's brain development and how it works. He provided guidance on how different parenting styles will influence your child's development in different way, but didn't make me feel like one way was better than the next. It was presented in such a way that I have a choice and based on my choice, here are the possible outcomes that I may experience as a result. I will definitely listen to this one again.

Every organization needs a steady supply of fresh, relevant ideas, but managers can't just lock teams in a room with a mandate to brainstorm and hope for the best. Ideation is both a science and an art, and when group ideation processes are well-designed and well-facilitated, anyone can generate an abundance of creative, implementable options, not to mention true breakthroughs, for any business need. Drawing on his work leading high-stakes ideation sessions at over 300 organizations, Mattimore explains the how, what, and why of successful ideation.

great refresher for facilitating ideation sessions
Revisado: 08-28-18
Many years ago, I was certified to run innovation brainstorming sessions. Recently I was engaged to facilitate ideation sessions. I listened to this book to help get me back into the frame of mind and it was great. It was like riding a bike. This book provides clear examples and is logically written. I'll come back to the last few chapters again for ways to change up facilitation based on customers needs.

Not for me
Revisado: 05-03-18
I got a few laughs out of this book, but it isn't for me. It is not a self-help book to help you with your toddler. It just points out all the craziness that comes with having a toddler. No support or tips or how to deal...just a reiteration of everything I'm already experiencing. I also didn't find a lot of it humorous. Some, but not a lot.
