Historia
Georgia Chambers has spent her life sifting through other people's pasts while trying to forget her own. But then her work as an expert on fine china - especially Limoges - requires her to return to the one place she swore she'd never revisit. It's been 13 years since Georgia left her family home on the coast of Florida, and nothing much has changed except that there are fewer oysters and more tourists.

Wonderful book!
Revisado: 07-01-23
This is a book I reread ever other summer. My father was a beekeeper, so it engages me immediately. I am also a china collector so am intrigued by the story of dishes. Karen White is an excellent storyteller and has woven a wonderful story of loss, love and mystery. The performers were excellent. I highly recommend this book!

Historia
In 1944, newly married Copper Reilly arrives in Paris soon after the liberation. While the city celebrates its freedom, she's stuck in the prison of an unhappy marriage. When her husband commits one betrayal too many, Copper demands a separation. Alone in Paris, she finds an unlikely new friend: an obscure, middle-aged designer from the back rooms of a decaying fashion house whose timid nature and reluctance for fame clash with the bold brilliance of his designs. His name is Christian Dior.

Very disappointed
Revisado: 11-23-22
I love fashion and was looking forward to a story about France and Dior. Mostly, it was about a one-dimensional heroine who becomes annoying very quickly. I can’t decide if the author really think this is a characterization of a woman or projects his own desires of what a woman should be. Instead of a brave woman, I kept thinking of Barbie. The narration was good, but I finally gave up.

Historia
England, 1176. Imprisoned by her husband, King Henry II, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Queen of England, refuses to let her powerful husband bully her into submission, even as he forces her away from her children and her birthright. Freed only by Henry's death, Eleanor becomes dowager Queen of England. But the competition for land and power that Henry stirred up among his sons has intensified to a dangerous rivalry.

Phenomenal!
Revisado: 09-05-22
I just finished the last of the Trilogy of Eleanor of Aquitaine. It was an incredible experience. Elizabeth Chadwick transported me back to twelfth-century Europe in the well-written tale about a strong woman who was queen of France and England. The narration was very well done. Kudos to the author and narrator. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Eleanor Murray will always remember her childhood on Edisto Island, where her late father, a local shrimper, shared her passion for music. Now her memories of him are all that tempers the guilt she feels over the accident that put her sister in a wheelchair and the feelings she harbors for her sister's husband. To help support her sister, Eleanor works at a Charleston investment firm during the day, but she escapes into her music, playing piano at a neighborhood bar. Until the night her enigmatic boss walks in and offers her a part-time job caring for his elderly aunt, Helena, back on Edisto.

Questioning.
Revisado: 10-20-21
I am a fan of Karen White’s books and have read many. My favorite is “Flight Patterns,” which I have read more than once. Perhaps if I had read the book instead of listening to it, I might have given more stars.
I felt the narration was very detrimental. I found all the voices annoying, and the inability to be consistent in a voice was distracting. The irony is that I found the book on my bookshelves after I listened to it! I wish I had read the print version.
