If I do this right 👉 then this will change my life
Revisado: 02-22-24
This is not a book 📖 this is a textbook written as a drama 🎭 and I am here for it. I had to buy the physical book to keep up with the audiobook. I have unknowingly done a very similar diet as this book suggests and I have lost 30 lbs! 😱 but after two years I gained it all back! The same diet did not work. However, I was missing a piece of the puzzle, fasting! It will take me a while and I will need help with my doctor 💊 because I take diabetic medication. If this goes well, I can finally keep the weight off for good 😌

Historia
As the child of refugees of World War II Europe and a renowned philosopher and scholar of propaganda, Jason Stanley has a deep understanding of how democratic societies can be vulnerable to fascism: Nations don’t have to be fascist to suffer from fascist politics. In fact, fascism’s roots have been present in the United States for more than a century.

This is great :) I now know what fascism is
Revisado: 07-24-23
I did not know what fascism was. It is kind of like defining a city. It's not just in the name. I cannot just be a building, a street, a pipe, a school, a shop, or a park. It is the collection of many elements that individually does not define a city but collectively does. Same with fascism.
I was surprised that the author has a great revulsion to Trump. But after the millionth example on how Trump undermined American democracy and used the exact same tactics as the (German bad guys from 1940s). I do think to myself... Fair.
Overall, it is an educational and inspiring book that goes over the basics of this political tool that for sure we are experiencing in the world right now. I do recommend it.

Historia
The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Historia
Joan Morgan offers a provocative and powerful look into the life of the modern Black woman: a complex world in which feminists often have not-so-clandestine affairs with the most sexist of men, where women who treasure their independence frequently prefer men who pick up the tab, and where the deluge of babymothers and babyfathers reminds Black women who long for marriage that traditional nuclear families are a reality for less than 40 percent of the population.

Historia
This first full-scale history of the development of the American suburb examines how "the good life" in America came to be equated with the a home of one's own surrounded by a grassy yard and located far from the urban workplace. Integrating social history with economic and architectural analysis, and taking into account such factors as the availability of cheap land, inexpensive building methods, and rapid transportation, Kenneth Jackson chronicles the phenomenal growth of the American suburb from the middle of the 19th century to the present day.

Historia
Hailed as "the guide to capitalism", the New York Times best seller Wealth and Poverty is one of the most influential economics books of all time and has sold more than one million copies since its first release. In this modern classic, Gilder affirms the moral superiority of free-market capitalism and explains why supply-side economics is more effective at decreasing poverty than government-regulated markets. Now, in a completely updated edition of Wealth and Poverty, Gilder compares America’s current economic challenges with its past economic problems.

The glorification of Capitalism :\
Revisado: 06-30-20
This author over glorifies the capitalistic system in the US. The point of view in the book mainly caters to Anglo-Saxon males that believe that there is a consistent opportunity for the acquisition of wealth. There are some truthful statistical findings of wealth and poverty, but the author uses it to direct his ideals of what constitutes the positive progression of wealth. There are too many red hearings and argumentative problems with some of the chapters.
My biggest problem with the book is the cause of poverty in African American communities and immigrant communities. The author lightly goes over the challenges of discrimination, but completely overlooks the institutional racism that has kept communities of color from obtaining wealth! And how the author used statistical findings that communities of color have lower IQs and lower wills to work which makes it hard to get out of poverty, and completely overlooks how his argument that individuals need faith in the future yet ignores that colored individuals have these problems. These points are evident in books such as 'The Color of Law,' or 'Evicted'.
This book should definitely stay in the 20th century and should be seen as what the wealthy class in the 20th century have recognized wealth and poverty. Otherwise, it is behind in times.
The chapters in the audiobook don't match the book.

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Sick of her micromanaging boss, she quietly started a company in the wee hours of the morning while her daughters were asleep - and once that side business, aden + anais, hit the $1 million mark in revenue, she quit to work on it full-time, which now generates over $100 million a year in revenue.

A call to all Entrepreneurs: A must read book!
Revisado: 03-11-20
I am an aspiring entrepreneur, and I have read many biography books from Elon Musk to Ray Dalio. Yet many of them go through many similar hardships (mainly due to being a caucasian male) of challenges and triumph in creating a product or idea. However, Raegan covers similar problems, but there are higher forces she had to overcome. To be a woman she had to be more! She also talks about the feelings and ideas of being a woman entrepreneur, not doing it for the money, collective thinking, and empathy that will change the world.
I am a mexican-american woman that wants to change the world in a male-dominated field, and having a sneak peek of what might come prepares me with wisdom, patience, and empathy.
I highly recommend this book to all male reader to better grow and understand the struggle that you may not experience but can be aware to not expand on the problem.
A great book that makes you laugh, cry, and keeps you reading without putting the book down until you finish.
