Historia
Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

I couldn’t stop listening. The narration was wonderful, the story engaging and delightful. The only thing that threw me off a little was the gruff voice used for Mr. Rochester. My new favorite ❤️

Historia
Oscar the cat has a very special skill. An otherwise ordinary cat—he'd sooner give you his back or a sideways glance than curl up on your lap—Oscar has the uncanny ability to predict when people are about to die. Adopted by staff members at Steere House nursing home when he was a kitten, the three year-old cat has presided over the deaths of more than twenty-five nursing home residents thus far.

Love for Oscar!
Revisado: 01-19-23
This book is about more than an amazing cat. It’s about a debilitating disease and the people, families, caregivers, cats, and medical providers touched by it. Thank you Dr. Dosa for stepping out of your science box and into the hearts of your patients and their families, thank you for embracing humanity rather than science alone. Thank you for sharing their stories and your journey. Great first book!

With practically the entire town of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, in attendance, the last place she wants to be is at her grandparents’ 60th wedding anniversary party with the whole family, her fiancé and her old flame all in the same room.

Historia
After a long and eventful life, Allan Karlsson ends up in a nursing home, believing it to be his last stop. The only problem is that he's still in good health, and in one day, he turns 100. A big celebration is in the works, but Allan really isn't interested (and he'd like a bit more control over his vodka consumption). So he decides to escape. He climbs out the window in his slippers and embarks on a hilarious and entirely unexpected journey, involving, among other surprises, a suitcase stuffed with cash.

Delightful listen
Revisado: 01-13-23
I really enjoyed listening to this book! There were a couple times I was a little bored but it didn’t last long and I was laughing again. I don’t typically enjoy audio books this long, but this book was entertaining and kept me smiling from start to finish.

Historia
After miraculously surviving a near-fatal brainstem stroke at age 26, as told in their memoir, Hope Heals, life for Katherine and Jay Wolf changed forever - and so did the way they viewed God, the world, and themselves in it. There was no going back to normal after such a tragedy. Yet Katherine and Jay learned that suffering is not the end, but rather the beginning of a new story. In Suffer Strong, they invite us into this new story as they share universal lessons and helpful practices.

Historia
The writer of the letter to the Hebrews said, "See to it that no one misses the grace of God." Over the centuries much ink has been spilled on the subject of grace. Yet perhaps nothing is as hard to explain as God's grace. It doesn't make sense. It's not fair. It can't possibly cover over what I've done. The best way - perhaps the only real way - to understand it is to experience it. But too often in our churches we're not getting grace across and grace is not experienced.
