Historia
No one has ever labeled Callie Cassidy a romantic. As Valentine's Day rolls around and villagers drape hearts and Cupids across every surface, she's just not that into it. Besides, with her own second-chance romance on rocky turf and her best friend's engagement to a man Callie doesn’t entirely trust, she's in even less of a mood to celebrate the month of love.

Callie is continuing her life as a photographer and solving mysteries. Her relationship with Sam is progressing but she is still hesitant about parts of it. She soon finds herself more involved than normal when she finds a body in front of her. Because of the nature of this crime and that she cannot seem to find her camera afterwards, she it becomes her mission to figure out who all is involved and why. As she begins to dig deeper into some of the characters involved she finds out all kinds of things that makes it harder to figure out what is going on. Soon though she finds that key piece of evidence and of course goes on her own to confront them Another great installment. I also love the antics of the creatures in the book as you wonder what part they will play in everything.

Callie is getting settled in as she has moved back home and started a new business. Of course things cannot stay that way as she finds a body in her darkroom. On top of this there has been some vandalism and Callie has to decide if they are by the same person or two different events. She is also dealing with her past as her old boss decides to come to her town for a retreat and she has to decide if the body is tied to events of the past or something more recent. I liked getting to get to know the characters better and of course Carl got to play a great part as well. And of course you could not help but expect what happens at the end. Look forward to the next adventure.

Historia
Callie Cassidy is no stranger to dead bodies. Two decades as a photojournalist on a big-city newspaper landed her face to face with so many of them that her colleagues dubbed her Queen of the Dead. Now, Callie believes her days of hanging out with cadavers are behind her. With her lovable golden retriever Woody in tow, she has returned in disgrace to Rock Creek Village, Colorado, where she licks her wounds in a cabin on her parents’ Rocky Mountain ski resort property.

A great start to a series. Callie has returned home to start over but still finds herself drawn into her past. She has left her job as a journalist/photographer. After her mom talks her into taking photos at an event, she runs across the body of an old classmate. Fortunately she has experience with what to do and soon finds herself trying to figure out who killed her and why. I enjoyed the characters and I think the cat is going to be interesting to see what he will do next. I look forward to the next book.

Historia
Attending a stranger’s memorial service wasn’t at the top of Kelli Jackson’s to-do list. Especially when that stranger was her own mother. To receive her inheritance Kelli must abide by the conditions of her late mother’s will. She is forced work as a zookeeper for six months with animals that terrify her. Since she needs to money to help support her aging grandmother, she must figure out a way to balance her career as a tax accountant with this new - thankfully temporary - assignment.

I really enjoyed seeing the characters grow and learn in this book. I can only imagine what it would be like to learn how to work at a zoo and do it the way that Kelli did would make it all the harder. I can see myself getting into some of the scrapes that she did and really enjoyed seeing how is all worked out.

I liked how Iris was so giving and persistent. She is a vet and doesn't hesitate in giving to other of money or time. She helps them out regardless of their past and sometime what pain it might cause her. She become acquainted with David through his dog. Seeing a need he has, she reaches out to him and does not allow him to get away with his bad attitude. She has to endure a lot including family issues to stay the giving person she is. I am not sure I could do as well as she did.

Great book
Revisado: 05-28-20
I have really enjoyed this series and watching these "sisters"grow. They were there for each other even when they could not share exactly what was going on. Alex had to work around her hurt and take the love and caring from her friends even though she could not share all what was going on. I was glad to see that it was not all good and that they still worked around things instead of giving up.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved seeing Arabella go between Pete who she really liked but had to get past her social upbringing and the Lieutenant who she didn't really care for but felt made a good social match. She is torn between continuing the baking she is loving and getting told someone of her station should not do things like that. It was really eye opening as to the social standards of the day even in the new circumstances that Arabella found herself in. I liked seeing how she came on her own as the story progressed.

This book really kept me going. I did not want to stop, but instead at the end of each chapter found myself continuing on. I cannot imagine what it would be like to think I was safe and then find out otherwise or to be the ones trying to get it all under control. The agents have to work together and with one of the witnesses to try to find the hacker and get the information back under wraps. I am anticipating to see what happens next in this series.

Historia
Joey Darling’s local movie premiere was supposed to be a win-win for everyone involved. All the proceeds would go to the children’s wing at a local hospital, and the online buzz would create positive press for the area’s tourism. But things go awry when the event is sabotaged and Joey’s stunt double is seriously injured. Suspects seem sparser than quality G-rated movies, and police fear the intended target was actually Joey.

I really enjoyed this story on learning to trust. The characters each had to work around things that had happened in their lives to be able to move on. They had to learn to not let the past hold them back and not let it influence their future.
I also love the friendship dynamic in the book. It is great to have someone you can lean on and trust, even if it does take a bit of time for that to happen.
