Historia
The reverberations from Fred West's crimes continue to this day. The story never dies. West was perhaps one of Britain's most evil, feared serial killers. His horrifying compulsion to kidnap, rape and torture his victims before murdering them showed a savagery and cruelty that can barely be believed. His 'House of Horrors' at 25 Cromwell Street, Gloucester, became a burial ground for the women who fell into his hands. This new publication of Geoffrey Wansell's iconic, best-selling true-crime masterpiece comes 30 years after West was arrested, in 1992.

Take a long shower after listening to this book.

I originally read Gordon Burn's book "Happy like Murderers" many years ago, and I thought it was the definitive text on the subject. However, I decided to dip my toe into the depravity of the West saga again with "An Evil Love", and the stench of Fred and Rose's behaviour is equally repulsive in this book. Excellent narration by Colin Mace.

Historia
In 1974, Pan American Flight 806 was hoping to land safely in Pago Pago, Samoa, but instead plummeted at 140 miles per hour into the jungle floor. The 101 passengers and crew members all survived this devastating crash. Unfortunately, only four of them escaped the wreckage before the ensuing fire that followed and lived to tell their story. After the disaster, Pan American was found guilty of "willful misconduct" after the longest and most expensive trial in aviation history.

Great story if air crash court cases is your thing

A good example of big corporations trying to weasel out of any blame and putting a nominal value on human life. This court case is a fantastic showcase of lawyer greed. The only downside is Tom Beyer's attempt at a Kiwi accent. It starts (very briefly) in New Zealand, then takes a stop-over in South Africa, before time-travelling back to Dickensian London. Despite this slight misstep, his narration is excellent.

Historia
To his neighbors, Wayne Nance, a furniture mover from Missoula, Montana, appeared to be an affable, considerate, and trustworthy guy. No one knew that Nance was the "Missoula Mauler," a psychopath responsible for a series of sadistic sex slayings that rocked the idyllic town between 1974 and 1986. Nance's only requirement for murder was accessibility - a preacher's wife, a teenage runaway, a female acquaintance, a married couple. Putting on a friendly façade, he could easily gain his victims' trust. Then, one September night, thirty-year-old Nance pushed his luck.

Absolutely riveting!!!

I listen to a lot of true crime, and I hadn't heard of Wayne Nance before. If this were a drama, the ending would be criticised for being unbelievable. One of the few audiobooks I actually sat and listened too, instead of listening whilst doing chores or driving.
