Historia
R. E. Lee by Douglas Southall Freeman was the recipient of the 1935 Pulitzer Prize for Literature. It was a richly deserved honor, for Freeman's biography of the distinguished Virginian went on to become one of the most celebrated of all American biographies, a favorite of General George Marshall and President Dwight Eisenhower, among many others. Since his death, thousands of American soldiers have sought to emulate Lee's example of virtue, courage, and duty.

I drive about 40k miles a year and this epic biography has been on my bucket list for too long. I wasn’t halfway through the book when I bought the four volume hard cover on eBay so I could really read it again.

Shockingly disappointed
Revisado: 06-19-17
I read all the reviews and was sincerely looking forward to the story. It was such a downer. As if Chris' demise wasn't sad enough the author drags you through accounts of many similar mentally ill people who just couldn't find peace in their lives. Very depressing.

The fact that the guy reading a historical book about the civil war could not pronounce Potomac or Appomattox correctly was incredibly annoying to me. I'd like to listen to it again but I can't take it. Seriously who picked this guy to read the book and how is it that no one corrected his pronunciation? It's Pa Toe Mack and Ap Pa Mat Tics ! Ugh

John and Laura Monroe are stuck on a train that has come to its final stop 150 miles from home. With no communications, and with strange storms taking over the skies, every decision they make could be the difference between life and death.

I hope Laura divorces this idiot
Revisado: 01-06-17
I wanted to jump into this book and give the Protagonist a kick in the ass. What a moron. When his wife comes out of the ether I hope she leaves him. Hard to read because of all the suffering Laura endures because of her stupid husband. If the author writes a book 4 he better make sure John pays for the error of his ways.
