The way Jesus tells it, if we give up on belonging in order to follow him, we'll find ourselves belonging anyway. We might not belong the way other people do, with normal homes and normal families and normal ways of fitting in. But we'll belong in a way that's a hundred times better. We'll be fully in place because we know we are out of place. We'll belong like aliens.

I enjoyed listening to this book. The author obviously loves Jesus and has made a costly sacrifice of his sexuality. In doing so (and because he admittedly is kind of an awkward guy) he learned what the Kingdom of God really means and those misfits who are made to fit together by God's design.

This is one of those books you hate to love. It's uncomfortable to think 'the devil on our shoulder' knows a single thing but what if he does? What if he had a mentor to teach him all the ways of hell?
Also, Bravo to the voice actor, he was spot on. I think Jack imagined this very voice actors voice when he thought of Screwtapes "voice." Shrewd

I did not find this motivational AT ALL. I couldn't get passed her negativity. I think she was aiming for humor but it was just bitter. Can her friend "Chipper Jenn" please write a book? Maybe they could write the next one together to balance out the harsh tone.
