Historia
There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Angel is the new vampire *sigh*
Revisado: 03-20-15
This story was typical and boring. Not since Bella has there been such a bland heroine. Like saltines without salt. Daniel starts off as an unexplainable jerk and then morphs into a love struck angel overnight. Luce's obsession with him is so stalkerish it's creepy. I don't just dislike Luce, I loathe her. Stupid girl can't live without a hot guy to like her. That's ALL she cares about. No dimension, no other attributes to make her the least bit interesting. Why would she be worthy of an angel dude loving her? She's a bland, selfish cracker of a character. Without salt or flavor. And why should she love him other than he's hot and can fly sometimes. He's a jerk. He flips her the bird, and tells her to shut up. Man-candy right there. Would they be the least bit interested in each other if they were ugly?
This book is a definite SKIP.

Any additional comments?
This book stunk worse than Meg's stinky orange hair. The writing in terrible, the reader is terrible. The author's "wonderful world-building" comes from a first grade class with names like Howling Good Reads--"OK, class, what would be a good name for a bookstore owned by a werewolf?" A Little Bite, Meat and Greens. Not since the Host's Heal, Clean, and Seal have there been such clever and thought provoking names. And she says them over, and over, and over, and over and over. And over. I have an idea for a name for Asia Crane's TV show: Asia Crane must Die. I just wanted her to die because she was so annoying, AND she wanted to be an actress, not because she is the rat that let in all the f-bomb dropping soldiers and tried to poison the ponies' sugar cubes--although I sympathize with her there. I felt like the whole place was a ski lodge for ridiculous monster animals. They wanted to destroy all the humans to protect the main character because she delivered their mail, and gave them sugar cubes and a cheesy green scarf with snowflakes on it. The big bad werewolfies fight over the dog cookies she keeps in her mail room. This story is so incredibly dumb. I can't believe I spent so long waiting to see if it would get better. My brain is also sweating on the inside. I only got this book because of the many unjustified good reviews--from listeners that must have confused this book with a better one--and I'm waiting for more Jennifer Armentrout books. Don't make your brain sweat on the inside--like me and Asia Crane--and download something, ANYTHING else.

Airhead is a good title for this vacuous series
Revisado: 03-25-11
Don't waste your credit with this. I loved the Mediator series Meg Cabot wrote. This heroine was annoying. For someone who supposedly is against all things superficial, she certainly whines a lot about herself. It was so difficult getting through her constant complaining! There is nothing new about this storyline. Little guy, big bad take over the world corporation. Blah blah blah. It is so tired. Meg Cabot is such a flaming liberal anyway that when her political beliefs rear their ugly head it is so cliche. Like a bad made for TV Disney movie where everyone hugs each other at the end. Go for Cassandra Clare instead. Her stuff is amazing. You laugh out loud, instead of just rolling your eyes. Save your eyes and your credits.

Interesting characters, but...
Revisado: 02-02-11
I got about halfway through this book and decided to chuck it. The characters are fun and the dialogue between the Kat and Bones is entertaining, but honestly, I don't need all the details of their sexual relationship. Bones claims to be a gentleman, but trains her to act like a prostitute to nab the bad guys. Yep, what a good guy. It seems a bit cookie cutter to me. Buffy and Angel all over again. I wish I would have read a review warning me of the trash in this book. So I'm warning someone else. Definitely past R. If you like that sort of garbage then download away.

Should have quit the series before this book
Revisado: 05-15-09
This book is a series killer for me. I really like Goodkind's writing and the way he portrays themes of human nature, but this one made me throw up in my mouth a couple of times. Some of the graphic details of sexual perversion were a bit unnecessary. I don't need to be beaten over the head with that kind of imagery. I have a great imagination, and just need a hint. I think Terry got off on this one. Would he want his mother to read this? I wouldn't. If you like great fantasy without the yuck factor, get Robert Jordan instead.

I've never read this author, but I was very pleased with the story development and the narration. A very good use of a credit. I highly recommend this story if you are in the mood for a well-written fairy tale (without fairies).

Historia
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

good book, bad narrator
Revisado: 12-08-06
I liked the story, although it is a little sophomoric. The narrator almost ruined the book for me. I couldn't get past his bad acting and horrible sound effects. I'll get the next one if someone else reads it.
