I heard a LOT about this guy, Steve Hardison, from coaches I had come to recognize as the hero coaches I aspired to be like. They All pointed back to him. Finally, when I learned of this book, I knew I had to check it out.. with a title like That!
(It was a little like when I discovered Boz Scaggs' music; first time, "meh".. second time, Lifelong Fan!)
Like many before me, I stalled out after a few first section chapters, even though I sometimes would notice I got choked up when reading the back of the book. I had "tears of recognition" of what felt like Truth, but.. it wasn't enough..
Yet!
After exposure to the Facebook group (The Ultimate Coach) and the amazing community gathered around the book, I started listening to it again. To my own surprise, this time I COULD read it about me.
There is also a regular book reading on Zoom, throughout the year, where chapters read by other readers and even by some who are included in the book. The sharing that happens after the reading are Always inspiring, insightful, and compelling. They also light up just how reading/hearing the book really CAN be about oneself.
It really is, for me, a book about Being.. not just about coaching. Learning to
1} Observe my being, 2} Shift my being, 3} Create my being
gets reinforced and expanded by regularly revisiting this book, and has allowed me to create a life way beyond what used to be possible or even imagined.
That is Saying Something, after my 76th birthday!
