Overall, a good addition. I felt Steve should've apologized which is a mild complaint. To not spoil it to much, I'll just say I'm glad Marco was there at the claiming.

I've enjoyed the installments in the series, but I think this one is one of my favorites. I'm so happy for Greer's character. I was counting down to when Id get to this love story. Good pace and voice acting. overall good addition and so far my fav of the series

Good Addition But Some Issues

Like the others this is overall a good addition to City Shifter Series. Good plot and good character development for most of the characters. I have a couple issues with this story. It seems like they never actually talked until the end of the story. This Todd doesnt mesh with the Todd we meet prior to The Pack subseries ( could jus be stress) but the Todd we get glinpses of in the series came across more playful and relaxed nit the gruff straight laced guy we get here. I was so hoping for a dominate female at some point in the series. Jinx was strong and confident like several other women but like all of them all we see is her being submissive or "bratty" in bed. Its mentioned she would top him but we arent ever given actual scenes of this which I found disappointing. Spoilers below***

I was left with some loose ends such as who is Mercy's mate, does Silas get returned to normal, and what happens with Dodge's baby? I call them loose ends but Idk if there will be more books. Also I don't like how her running away was framed like she was in the wrong and had no reason to run and had to apologize ( could she have handled it better yes but Todd wanted an apology and didn't seem to really acknowledge that he was in the wrong for assuming and making a bunch of plans with out actually discussing it with her. Acting like he had no clue why she would be upset and flee. Her saying she wanted to try for long term didn't mean an auto yes to all HIS plans. He seems to have learned by the epilogue, but never really apologized.

Overall, still a good addition and I'm still eager for the next book oin this series or a new one about the City Shifters.

Good But Mild Complaints

I would suggest reading City Shifters: The Pack AFTER reading the Pride then the Den as some endings and overarching plot elements and twists will be ruined. I made review before I finished listening and now that I have I feel compelled make another. Overall great addition, but there is a small continuity issue in Ch 19 or Ch 20 as it says that Det. O'Brien is mated to one of the Chase lions but she is actually mated to the bear Malcolm MacNevin. Now for my real complaint: the Silverline Pack, Miles, and Diedre WAY overstepped. They keep Dodge from his mate saying when he is in control he can see her but Miles as an Alpha and someone who was kept from his mate in a way should have understood that she could've calmed him. Also why did no one in Silverline including Miles and Diedre not explain what was going on and why Dodge wasn't contacting her? For the plots sake I guess. Either the few chapters before the epilogue were a bit frustrating as so much heartache and stress would have been avoided if anyone had explained stuff to her namely Miles since he should understand from Dodge's POV then let her make decisions. Still a good read!

Where's her power?

If you haven't read City Shiters: the Pride and the Den, then I would advise you to read those first, starting with the Pride series. There are several threads from both of those series that play out in this book.

Overall, this is a good addition to the City Shifters series. I had hoped we would get to see the a-hole Miles Evershaw find his mate and turn to putty in her hands. That's not exactly what happens with their dynamic, but thats ok. However, I had one main issue with the portrayal of Deirdre's character. With how she is described, I expected/hoped to see her power. It's still a good addition and has me waiting for other stories. I hope we get Mercy's story. Below is explaination of my above listed issue. Potential spoilers ahead

She is noted to be an extremely powerful witch. She has enough power that she gives Smith pause and was able to save him from the betwixt, but in this book, we only see that power displayed twice: once in the beginning and then again when she is captured by Miles's pack. 4 times if you include the healings. She's constantly being overpowere it seems. Since she is captured multiple times and unable to defend herself due to some reason or another. Still a good read and good addition.

I think this one was my favorite one of the City Shifter books. It was great and I enjoyed the dynamic between Noelle and Jameson. I hope to see atleast glimpses of them again. I look forward reading City Shifters: The Pack.

One small continuity issue: in the epilogue of Breaking Free it says Kara ( don't remember how it's spelled here) and Owen have a little girl that Nick suggests they call Nicola but in this book it says their 1st born is a boy. so I wonder what the timeline is there or was it just a oversight?

overall a great edition to the series though i felt it dragged on a bit toward the end before things popped off. I also feel there needs to be some sort of blurb on all the city shifter books about the order to read things. yes you can read out of order but for me it almost ruined me wanting to finish all them due to almost reading out of order. i really think including the order in wich to read the books would be helpful such as you should read all of the city pride books, then the 1st 5 city shifters:the den books before reading this one because if you don't miss alot of details for the overarching plot of bad creek and such.

it was a good listen tho you might want to include something in the summary about elosie and ben since the 1st 12 chapters are about them. it seemed odd to start there after reading the little preview summary. also since their story took up 12 chapters I would have liked more closure there than jus the party. I desperately need to know the results. You can make that such a big thing then jus sweep it under the rug cause shes adopting the teens and her niece. Overall I liked the story though I thought it was a little strange for Nat to be so upset about changing to the point she was willing to die and leave Logan and the babies alone. Logan pointed out that they could have had a lower dose transfusion before she gave birth which wouldn't change her and would have most likely prevented her from needed to be emergency changed ( I could be wrong here) or atleast thays what it seemed like. Also some sort of note about the order to read the city shifter books in would be great because I've now read all of the the Pride set but already know how things end for the Den since alot of them are mentioned in this book. Overall a great addition with great character development and a good pace.

Overall a good read if you like paranormal romance. There are a few errors such as the wrong name is used for already established character but not to bad. Each character has their own personality and their own voice for the most part. The plots are good and tie together well. The real issues I have is the shifter blood in Eloise's bag wasnt solved and I don't like how Logan's personality seems to changed drastically after finding his mate. Obviously he'd be protective but he also seems to lose control more often and acts like a douche to his brothers about their mates initially when he is the one who demanded that they all needed to find mates whether fated or not Good series!
