Historia
The ninth floor. Nine armies, each led by rich and powerful aliens from across the galaxy. Each team has one objective: to capture and hold the castle at the very center of the battlefield. Strategy, alliances, pitched battles, and, of course, betrayal ... It all makes for great fun and even greater television. After all, none of these powerful aliens really die when they’re playing war. Except this time. This time, winner takes all. Those who fall, stay in the ground.

Historia
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone. When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

A romance book written by a horny 16 year old
Revisado: 02-16-25
The premise of the book is great. The action moves well. However, there’s so much cringy sexual banter between the two characters as if written by a horny 16 year old female- it got old. They just pine after each other during the whole book. The guy is the stereotypical dark daddy and she first hates him then becomes attracted by him… it’s been done so many times before. Tiring to listen to the stupid banter. The main character is supposed to be badass but she acts like a damsel in distress for most of the book. The male character is strong and brooding. The female character is stupid, insecure, clumsy, scared. This story had so much potential. If this is the kind of garbage that romance has turned into, we’ve fallen so far. Not my type of book. Maybe good for others though

Auras empowering the body to superhuman status. Invocations tearing the land asunder. The war has arrived. The necromantic armies are on the warpath and nowhere is safe—even the sanctuary of the flying dungeon has been threatened. The leadership of nearly all the sentient races has been wiped out, and only the people most suited to repelling the advancing darkness have an intact monarchy. Cal learns quickly that the primary threat is not the far-off war, but the actions of those entrusted with protecting the population.

Revisado: 02-12-25
Story got irrelevant and all over the place. There’s very little tension anymore. Too many books on this subject. The author needs to move on. The book didn’t have a central plot…. I got bored. I’ll move on to another series now

For a badass assassin , selinia is so wishy washy
Revisado: 02-10-25
Characters are cartoons. It’s more like a yt romance novel. The people are all good looking. No one is ugly. There is so much deus ex machines to save the main character from death. The plot is so predictable. I’m not going to read the next installment.

Historia
All Liam Avione ever wanted was to be a Deathbringer. Almost twenty years old now, he’s approaching the last six months of the decade-long training program, hopeful for his future as a protector of the Universe. One, slight problem: he’s got a genetic defect that he’s been keeping a secret. But as the training intensifies, so do his symptoms. Which are really hard to hide when they cause him to puke, pass out, and have a seizure in front of the training cadre.

The main character is such a wimp
Revisado: 02-05-25
For a guy with 9.5 years of hard training, the main character liam is such a wimp. He is always second guessing himself. He is so wishy washy and weak mentally. His delays in actions pretty much what drives the story forward. If he had shot the wraith as it was being birthed, the book would have ended. Now I’ve got to listen to six more hours to find out what happens. Also, they send in space marines to kill the monster. 30 of them get killed. However, had they just do an orbital bombardment, they will have killed the monster. The elders are so stupid. The ai that is supposed to be all knowing is so stupid. Just let the cadets stumble in and not tell everyone what is really happening. It’s these kinds of scenes that don’t make any sense that makes it hard to read. The plot is so contrived to make liam the main character of the action, that it becomes annoying. The humans are supposed to be the best warriors in the universe. They are supposed to be able to fight other species. However, everyone acts so stupid and incompetent that it’s a wonder they are still alive. Earth is supposed to fight some mysterious enemies call the wraiths. They defeated them over a thousand years ago. However, with computerized records and an ai who was there at the time of the wraith war, nobody has any info on the wraiths. There is only scant accounts that liam can piece together. This is such an unlikely scenario that doesn’t make sense. It get worse. The ai is controlling a robot body that can kill the monster with a revolver and bullets whereas space marines with pulse rifles can’t. Completely improbable. I won’t read the next installment. I can’t believe there are so many positive reviews. This book is written for a fifth grader.

Zane was driving home from work when the world changed. Thousands of dungeons spawned at once, taking up every inch of Earth—including the road he’s driving on. He wakes up to a totaled car and a broken leg, facing down a goblin trying to spear him through the guts. And that's just the start of it. But to Zane’s surprise, he finds himself enjoying this brutal new world. While others cower and hide, he goes on the hunt. He unlocks a unique Berserker skill—the more damage he takes, the stronger he gets.

Very enjoyable litrpg
Revisado: 12-29-24
I like to see the characters fight monsters and level up and that’s what you get in this book. There is minimal contrived situations and contrived character drama with each other- which I find annoying in some series.
Another good thing is that this didn’t devolve into another teenage harem fantasy-another genre which I hate.
Just finished the first and I’m buying the second now as I write this.

Not as good as the rook
Revisado: 12-21-24
The good guys kept letting the bad guys live which allowed them to do more harm and prolonged the book. It would be a short book if they just killed the bad guys on the spot. It was annoying after a while. The plot is weak and contrived. Not engaging as the rook.

An existence spent being forced to kill others to satiate a monster. Where the only thing to look forward to was the blessed, if brief, period of time between paying that bribe. Except that very same monster is and isn’t Rene. It just happened to live inside his own mind and force him to do what it wanted.

Just another harem fantasy
Revisado: 12-14-24
Was the most unique idea. Such possibilities. A great fantasy world. However, it evolved into just another harem male fantasy. Got so boring. Clumsy. Cringy. The women dialog is stilted and horrible. Need more action. Most of the book involves Renee managing multiple women. As if it was written by an incel. I can’t even finish this garbage

Lots of talk. Not much action
Revisado: 10-12-24
For a bad ass, the hero talks a lot. There is much dialog. A hates b. B hates c. They all hate each other. Wants to kill each other but they keep talking about it instead of doing it. Lots of drama. “You can’t kill me! I’ll kill the hostage !” That’s the entire book. These folks are 1000 years old. I can’t believe they haven’t killed each other by now. The folks always have some hostage or reason not to kill each other. Lots of characters and twists. Lots of talk also. Monologue. Dialog….
I can’t believe I read the earlier books. It’s been a long time before I found this current book. I won’t read anymore from this series.
Try mistborn, iron Druid series, the black company, Alex verus series… so many better series
