This is a very excellent book on entrepreneurship. This books follows a unique and different approach that many readers may not have been exposed to. If you have ever taken any MBA level courses or Masters level business course then you may have been exposed to the Harvard Business Schools case study approach. Case study analysis is perhaps one of the most effective ways to learn critical thinking skills. The HBS case study approach is being used in most high quality business schools. This book is a well written compendium of entrepreneurial concepts presented using a case study approach. This books is a must read for the aspiring entrepreneur or business strategist. This book sort of defines a new type of genre but parallels and is in the same family with books like Blue Ocean Strategy, or The Innovators Dilemma, or The Innovators DNA. If the HBS case study approach is like a single melody, then this book is more like a symphony. Read it, and don't get hung up on the Harvard Business School venue. This books has some very important principles and concepts that applies to all entrepreneurs.

I thought that this was a very good book on genetics and how this field of science is being applied in the real world. The material is presented in a way that the average listener can understand and grasp. The delivery of the lectures are very well done. You will learn the basics about genetics and develop a working vocabulary. The author and in this case the professor / narrator starts each lecture with a very interesting story that sets the stage for the content of the lecture. If you have any interest in learning the basics about genetics, then I highly recommend this audio book. The Great Courses usually do a great job at providing content. This is a good book for high school students or above. It is a very interesting and enjoyable course.

This is a very interesting book from the standpoint that it documents a very historical event with the creation of synthetic life. This book provides a detailed history leading up to and then the aftermath of Dr. Venter and associates creation of the synthetic biology. The book is well written, but the content is very scientific and perhaps is more appropriate for scientist and those who have a strong scientific interest or understanding of Dr. Venters work. The performance of the narrator is very good, and even the content of the books is good for the right audience. My opinion is that this book is not necessarily for the average listener. The content is complex and was above my understanding. Over this book is, and will continue to be a very important historical record for the actual scientific creation of the first synthetic life.

Robert Greene has created a masterpiece of practical brilliance. We should all aspire to be masters in whatever we pursue. This is a very valuable guide for anyone who is seeking a greater purpose or meaning to your existence. I would highly recommend this to young adults who are transitioning from high school into an adult life and profession. But this is also valuable to anyone at any stage of their life.

This is a very good book on strategy and strategic thinking. Uses very good historical examples to visualize the concept. The ideas and concepts can be used in both personal and business settings. Not all concepts are applicable for everyone, but in general will help you build a broader understanding about strategy and strategic decision making. I would rank this in the top 10 books for strategy. Other titles to consider are

Good Strategy Bad Strategy by Richard Rumelt
Understanding Michael Porter by Joan Magretta
Strategic Thinking Skills by The Great Courses narrated by Stanley Ridgley
Blue Ocean Strategy by W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne
The Innovators Solution by Clayton M. Christensen and Michael Raynor
Seeing What's Next by Clayton M. Christensen and Scott D. Anthony

Just to name a few.

Interesting History of the fathers of Quantum

Revisado: 11-22-11

This is a fun and interesting history of the fathers of modern physics. The books start out a little slow as it orients the reader, but if you stick with it, by chapter 3 you will start to connect with the real world characters of Neils Bohr and Albert Einstein and the many other important scientist who discovered and developed our modern day view of space time and quantum mechanics.

The dynamics between Einstein and Bohr plays out like a 50 year chess match between two grand masters. Each move well thought out and calculated. Each move brilliant and almost flawless, but somehow the other seems to find that little flaw and is able to advance their view slightly further. Even today, these two views are still being heavily debated and it is still not certain who's universal view will ultimately prevail Bohr or Einstein, or maybe the final answer will be both.
