Great Listen!
Revisado: 02-07-20
This is a great listen. I fell in love with Kim Cash Tate about a year ago and quickly read through all of her books. She is a masterful storyteller and gives us so many relatable characters. Hope Springs did not disappoint. You will fall in love with this big family and especially the three adult cousins. You will laugh, cry, think, learn, and delight in The Word. Audible needs to make more of her books available. A sort of spoiler alert: I remain upset with Aunt Gwen, taking her too long to forgive.

Excellent Story
Revisado: 08-13-15
What did you love best about Mama Day?
I loved the great story telling of Gloria Naylor. The way she weaves a story is superb. I read this book about 20 years ago and it was great to listen to it. I longed to spend a summer with Mama Day and Ms. Abigail.
Which character – as performed by the narrator – was your favorite?
The voice of Mama Day was good.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Coco returns to her roots and brings her husband home ot roost.

Historia
Frank Money is an angry, self-loathing veteran of the Korean War who, after traumatic experiences on the front lines, finds himself back in racist America with more than just physical scars. His home may seem alien to him, but he is shocked out of his crippling apathy by the need to rescue his medically abused younger sister and take her back to the small Georgia town they come from and that he's hated all his life. This is a deeply moving novel about an apparently defeated man finding his manhood - and his home.

Good story telling

Would you listen to Home again? Why?
I liked the way the story slowly revealed itself. I normally do not like slow moving stories, but was intrigued by this one. Ms. Morrison does an excellent job.
