Historia
Mere days after Ashton Wingate's wedding to the enchanting Lierin, capricious Fate stole the Mississippi plantation owner's beloved from him. Now, three years later, his carriage has collided with a cloaked rider on horseback: a woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to the young bride who was swallowed up by the merciless river. She awakens from unconsciousness in his magnificent home with no memory of who she is.

Why, I Do Declare, Something Surely is Amiss Here! Be Still My Beating Heart!
Revisado: 04-09-25
Brilliant. Captivating. Heart-pounding. Mesmerizing. Ruthless. Macabre. Sultry. Kismet.
These words—and so many more—barely scratch the surface of Come Love a Stranger by Kathleen Woodiwiss. From the very first chapter, the story seduces the reader with its bewitching charm, deceptive twists, and quixotic romance. Each page unfurls a new emotion: devotion, enchantment, chilling suspense, and that sweet, slow burn of love against all odds.
Woodiwiss doesn't just write a story—she paints it, vividly and passionately, with a palette of seduction, betrayal, hope, and pulchritudinous beauty. Her characters are rich with allure and complexity, and the setting is so vivid, it's almost tangible.
If you’re looking for a tale that’s winsome and tantalizing, with a current of dark intrigue beneath its genteel Southern surface, this book will not only sweep you off your feet—it’ll leave you breathless.
So brew a strong cup of tea, loosen your corset, and prepare to be utterly enchanted. Mercy me, you won’t be the same afterward.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Endurance, Love, Sacrifice, and the Unbreakable Spirit
Revisado: 04-03-25
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is a hauntingly beautiful novel that swept me into the lives of two sisters and the families around them in a small French village during WWII. Based on real events, this story is not just about war—it’s about love, resilience, and the strength of the human spirit in the face of unspeakable cruelty.
There were moments that were breathtakingly lovely and others that were gut-wrenchingly painful. The tenderness between family members, the bravery shown in secret acts of resistance, and the sacrifices made for the sake of others—all of it touched me deeply. It showed how love could be a source of both pain and power, but always a force worth fighting for.
Kristin Hannah doesn't shy away from the horrors of history—rape, concentration camps, the Gestapo, SS officers, POWs, betrayals, and devastating loss. I was stunned by the depravity of what humans are capable of when consumed by power and hatred. It's nearly impossible to wrap my head around the suffering inflicted by one paranoid, arrogant, and psychopathic man, and yet this book reminded me that even in the darkest times, there were those who rose with extraordinary courage.
I’m so glad I experienced this book. It made me grateful for the life I live and deeply moved by those who came before us. It left me both broken and uplifted.

An Unseen Thread of Good vs Evil - Eerie Whispers of the Other
Revisado: 03-01-25
Hints at the invisible connection between twins, even when they are try to separate themselves.
I loved the story and the woven tapestry of fairytale fantasy with very dark fantasy.
The story was well written and portrayed. Many chills ran up my spine. I especially loved the voice and character of The Sugar Plum Fairy/The Spade.
Every character walked a fine line between good and evil. It was an intricate web of guilt, deceit, greed, lust, want, entitlement, consequences, sorrow, jealousy, and so much more.
Heed this warning: be careful what you wish for - so often we only think we know what we want - consequences will follow.

Emotional Rollercoaster
Revisado: 02-27-25
The story is genius. There are numerous twists and turns. I was left with an array of emotions from anger, confusion, sympathy, empathy, laughter, frustration, tears, joy, passion, and so much more.
As for the narrator, I would have preferred more than one reader - at least one male. The voice of Christopher was not fitting to his character. There are too many voices for one reader - not enough distinction between the voices.

An Emotional Rollercoaster of Emotions
Revisado: 01-27-25
Mesmerizing, edge of your seat thrills throughout, wonderful plot, so many twists and unexpected turns, pure genius. I could feel every emotion. I found myself holding my breath. Shivers and gasps racked my body. Eerie, raw, down right creepy. I LOVED Gemma's character- her sass and courage. Brilliant writing. I listened to 3/4 of this book in one day. I had to find out what was going to happen. For once I was pleased how it ended.

Interesting and Strange
Revisado: 02-03-23
The performance was phenomenal. The storyline was very interesting and different - a story about strange, damaged, combustible twins - who would have thought?! One very unexpected and awesome twist!
I immensely enjoyed the story and the plot.
Two things bothered me - too much cursing in front of and from the children. The F**k word is used A LOT! The other thing I didn't care for was the announcing throughout a conversation of she said, he said, I said, they said, etc. It is obvious who is saying what and that got a little tedious.
I would listen to other books written by the same author.

Historia
Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back, packing a whole lot of attitude. This time around, she's on the trail of Kenny Mancuso, a boy from the working-class burg of Trenton, New Jersey, who has just shot his best friend. Fresh out of the Army and suspiciously wealthy, Mancuso's also distantly related to Joe Morelli, a vice cop with questionable ethics, a libido in permanent overdrive, and a habit of horning in on Stephanie's investigations.

Hold on Tight, You're in for Quite the Ride
Revisado: 01-18-23
After the awesomeness of book one in this series, I found the first half of this book a little slow. The second half made up for it. Stephanie's grandmother is a real stitch. Once again you will experience an array of emotions from hysterical laughter to horror.

Historia
Caitlyn Sullivan had come from a long line of Hollywood royalty, stretching back to her Irish immigrant great-grandfather. At nine, she was already a star - yet still an innocent child who loved to play hide-and-seek with her cousins at the family home in Big Sur. It was during one of those games that she disappeared. Some may have considered her a pampered princess, but Cate was in fact a smart, scrappy fighter, and she managed to escape her abductors. Callan Cooper was shocked to find the bloodied, exhausted girl huddled in his house.

Revisado: 01-07-23
Loved it as I do all of Nora Robert's books. The narrator's performance was phenomenal. It was entertaining, emotional, scary, exciting, funny, and sweet. It is a great reminder on the importance of the family support system. I highly recommend this book. It moves at the perfect pace.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.
