Historia
The work tells the story of Jane's early life, her experience at Lowood School and as a governess. Her refusal to accept Rochester's love on any but her own strictly moral terms is a passionate cry for independence.

Juliet Stevenson is Perfect!
Revisado: 03-14-18
I enjoyed every minute of Juliet Stevenson's delightful narration. The actual story needs no comment from me.

Historia
All her life, Valancy Stirling lived on a quiet little street in an ugly little house and never dared to contradict her domineering mother and her unforgiving aunt. At 29, she's never been in love, and her only consolation has been the forbidden books of John Foster and her daydreams of the Blue Castle. Then, one day, she gets a letter and decides that things need to change. For the first time in her life, she does exactly what she wants to and says exactly what she feels.

Charming, but Predictable
Revisado: 02-17-18
The characters are interesting and original. And the plot concept is fun and thought - provoking. However, each important moment in the story is predictable and therefore disappointing. Also, at the climactic moment of the story, our heroine behaves in ways that are not believable. It is annoying. In spite of all that, it is a light and fun story that might make a good beach read.

Historia
Between iPods, music-blasting restaurants, earsplitting sports stadiums, and endless air and road traffic, the place for quiet in our lives grows smaller by the day. In Pursuit of Silence gives contextto our increasingly desperatesense that noise pollution is, in a very real way, an environmental catastrophe.

Discovered Unexpected Thoughts on Silence
Revisado: 08-08-17
I too find noise unusually annoying and painful. Mr. Prochnik's research is interesting and uncovers some of the difficulties in reducing noise. His findings were surprising, discouraging, and inspiring in turn. He relays his research with an appealing sense of humor.

Historia
When she was suddenly given the opportunity of a new life in rural Jutland, journalist and archetypal Londoner Helen Russell discovered a startling statistic: the happiest place on earth isn't Disneyland but Denmark, a land often thought of by foreigners as consisting entirely of long, dark winters, cured herring, Lego and pastries. What is the secret to their success? Are happy Danes born or made?

Love Helen Russell and Lucy Price - Lewis!
Revisado: 06-12-17
Ms. Russell's story is entertaining and smart. She is hilarious, likable, and real. It is so much fun to view Denmark through her perspective. Ms. Price - Lewis is a joy to listen to. I laughed out loud and often.

Historia
Charles Dickens’ Christmas classic—written in time for the 1843 holiday season—sold out its initial printing of 6,000 copies in one day. It remains Dickens’ most widely read and best-loved work, guaranteed to warm and uplift with the simplicity of its message and the depth of its honest truths. Bah! Humbug! It’s Christmas Eve and miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is in a foul temper—good cheer and joyful spending turn his very insides to vinegar.

An Old Favorite
Revisado: 09-29-16
The kids and I adore this story! We enjoyed most of Anne Hathaway's performance, except for Oz, the lisping Emerald City gatekeeper, and the soldier. Those characters were unpleasant to listen to.
