Awesome romantic comedy!

I am a huge fan of everything Lucy Score writes, but this probably is my favorite book so far. I love the quirky residents of Story Lake. The story has several laugh out loud moments and a great romance between the main characters. I can’t wait for the next installment. I highly recommend this book or anything to Lucy Score writes.

I love all of Lucy Score’s‘ books. The Riley Thorn series is one of my favorites and this one so funny that I was laughing out loud at parts. I highly recommend this book and the series it belongs to.

I found this to be an extremely enjoyable listen. I loved the story and I loved how we were introduced to so many different characters whose lives became intertwined as the book moved along. Very well written and great narration too.

Loved Bones' version of the story.

If you love the Cat & Bones series, you will enjoy this new take on their adventures.

For me it took a bit to get used to the new voices since it's a new narrator. I get changing it up, because this is from Bones' point of view, but after so many books narrated by Tavia Gilbert, I had the characters voices in my head. lol

Regardless, it's an enjoyable listen for fans of Cat and Bones or the supernatural genre in general.

I highly recommend.

Great story & great narrator

Absolutely loved this book. The storyline was great and the narration even betterl The banter between the main characters was wonderful and Kate Reading had perfect delivery and timing. She really made a good story even better. A definite recommendation.

Good mystery, bad narration

While this book has a good storyline I was left a bit wanting by the narration. There were times in the reading that I felt the narrator was doing just that, reading, to the point that I had trouble determining who was speaking because i could discern the voices. Then for the few voices that voices that the narrator did change up, I found most of them annoying. I checked and saw that it's the same narrator for all the books in the series so I think if I decide to continue with the series, I will be reading them instead of listening to them.

I expected a bit more.

Let me start by saying this was an enjoyable listen, but I was expecting a bit more. I thought the female lead was a bit weak. I understand that you can't help who you love and that you continue to love them even if they have hurt you, but working out their past seemed to just be glossed over. Other than her telling him "you hurt me". When i read the premise for the story, I thought it was something different and interesting. I was really looking forward to listening to this book, but it just left me wanting something more. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't all i hoped it would be.

This story is just over 5 hours long so it opens up with the male and female lead each explaining to the listener that they are attracted to the other one. So no build up of seeing the 2 interact and the relationship develop which is what I enjoy most so while the story was okay, it was missing something for me.

Title says it all . . . A Love Story

I was very reluctant to listen to this book. I typically listen to light, feel good romances. I often refer to the books I read / listen to as mind candy. Something sweet for my mind to enjoy and isn't too thought provoking. Something to wind down with at the end of the day or while on vacation. That said, I purchased this story during a moment when I thought I wanted a listen with a little more "meat" to the story line. Then it sat in my library for over a year because I thought it was going to be too depressing to listen to. I was pleasantly surprised. While the story tells you about the traumatic event that occurred to Jake, (the male lead in the story), it does so slowly so you aren't overwhelmed with the horror of it and while it's an important part of Jake's life, that's not what's focused on. The author focuses on the relationship with Jake and Casey and writes a beautiful story. The funny parts are funny, the sad parts sad, etc. Overall an excellent listen and I highly recommend the book. Narrators did an excellent job too!!

Overall a good story, but I really didn't like the female lead or her best friend most of the time. I found them to be annoying and skipped through some of the interactions that was between just the 2 of them. For this reason, even though I enjoyed the story line / plot, I can't give it more than 3 stars.
