Historia
The philosopher asks: "Faced with the mutually exclusive choice between moral principle and the survival of your family, which is the correct path?" Philosophers love to pose such questions, and in the day-to-day struggle, such thinkers rarely attain to a level of relevance rivaling that of the simple hunger pang. Their careful considerations dissipate under the leveled gun. We do not feel their disapproving gaze when The Others draw near. When the world sends doom, the survivors do not hesitate. The survivors do what is necessary.

Amazing Narration for an Amazing Tale!
Revisado: 05-17-19
Firstly, RCBray gave me everything I could want in an Audible performer! His voice breathed life into Gayou’s words and painted the picture of a dystopian, scary, yet hopeful future.
I inhaled the previous Commune books and I even pre-ordered the final book! I discovered a depth of the pronounced villain and could empathize with him in this book while in the previous ones I felt he was 100% evil!
Before I began to spoil the story, I think I should stop and wait to write another review once more people have read the story.
Bottom line, excellent series-get then all and listen TODAY!

Historia
Aged Mother Jilo is wise in the ways of magic...but once upon a time, she was just a girl. 1950s Georgia: King Cotton has fallen. Savannah is known as the "beautiful woman with a dirty face," its stately elegance faded by neglect, its soul withering from racial injustice and political corruption. Young Jilo - fiercely independent, intelligent, and ambitious, but thwarted by Savannah's maddeningly genteel version of bigotry - finds herself forced to embrace a dark power that has pursued her family for generations, an ancient magic that may prove her salvation.

Best in the series!
Revisado: 05-27-18
Although you must read the others to fully grasp Jilo, this is the best one of them all! The historical context is sound as well as Horn’s imagery! I highly recommend!

Historia
Anna Fox lives alone - a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times...and spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn't, her world begins to crumble. And its shocking secrets are laid bare.

Two Twists?? Or no??
Revisado: 01-08-18
Great story...thorough character development with two twists! Seriously, it twists this one way and then twists again?
This book sells me on the psychological thriller genre for sure!
Great author segment at the end...

Historia
In the fast-paced Breakers series, humanity faces not one apocalypse, but two: first a lethal pandemic, then a war against those who made the virus. It's been six years since the plague and Tristan has spent five of them in Maui with her brother Alden. Life seems quiet. Simple. Peaceful. All these illusions are torn away when she discovers an alien installation hidden in the mountains. In response, she prepares a boat and starts work on a new home deep in the forest.

Ray Chase is a BEAST!
Revisado: 04-14-17
He actually literally voices a Beast in the novel, well an alien-beast to be exact!
Ray Chase narrates Robertson's story to the point where you can visualize every action in the tale. Partner him with this tale of pandemic, invasion, and drama, and it's a wild ride that you won't want to stop!
I highly recommend the series and am anxiously anticipating my drive home so I can begin the next part of the saga-Captives!

Good Zombie Story
Revisado: 03-17-17
A blog-style book...interesting concept; good for some things, not so great for others.
Decent post-apocalyptic tale...as a fan of the genre, I've read/listened to almost every scenario; Zomblog does manage to present some new and way-sick ways people become more deadly than the zombies.
I would recommend it to folks who are into zombies and enjoy a little "girl power".

Historia
Cassie Forrest could almost believe life at Kingdom Come Farm is perfect, with Adrian and her friends at her side and spring on the way. The spring thaw also means millions of defrosting zombies, however, and if the past year has taught her anything, it's that life in this new world is highly imperfect. When Safe Zones throughout the country begin to disappear and the zombies at the fences grow in number, Cassie clings to the hope that if she has the people she loves most, it will be all right.

Loved the story...
Gives you the suspense of a horror novel mixed with the warmth of a romance novel.
Cleverly written and read amazingly by the narrator.
This is my 2nd book in the series and I can't wait for the third!

Historia
With a sensibility that recalls her beloved screen characters, including Yvette, Queenie, Shug, and the iconic Cookie from Empire, yet is all Taraji, the screen actress writes of her families - the one she was born into and the one she created. She shares stories of her father, a Vietnam vet who was bowed but never broken by life's challenges, and of her mother, who survived violence both in the home and on DC's volatile streets. Here, too, she opens up about her experiences as a single mother.

Inspiring and Enlightening
Revisado: 12-19-16
I thoroughly enjoyed this glimpse into the highlights and lows of Taraji P. Henson's life. Her voice narrating her life's chronicles gave the words just the right amount of spunk and sincerity you'd expect from one of Hollywood's most intriguing stars.
I specifically enjoyed the insight she gave on playing some of pop culture's most memorable characters on both big and small screens. It makes you want to go back and watch her in her craft to re-discover the nuances she added to convince audiences exactly why she is who she is!
Ms. Henson shares her tales of her upbringing, motherhood, and catching the acting bug at an early age. You will laugh, cry, and slap your book/e-reader high five at this delightful and intuitive memoir.

Historia
Hopping from the Hamptons to the Manhattan dating world, the dog park to the red carpet, Cardinals superfan and mama's boy Andy Cohen, with Wacha in tow, is the kind of star fans are dying to be friends with. This book gives them that chance. If The Andy Cohen Diaries was deemed "the literary equivalent of a Fresca and tequila" by Jimmy Fallon, Superficial is a double: dishier, juicier, and friskier. In this account of his escapades, Andy tells us not only what goes down but exactly what he thinks.

Great Review for Fans-Great Intro to Andy for Newcomers
Revisado: 11-24-16
Andy is in all of his glory sharing his tales of being rich and famous. It's still nice to see he's star struck from time to time and reminded of his place in the food chain by mega stars.
If you listen to his station and watch his shows, there's some redundant material, but more than enough golden nuggets to keep even the most jaded reader (listener) interested.
Tip: You really don't need to read the other books to enjoy this one!
