Historia
Thirty years ago, award-winning journalist Jon Ronson stumbled on the mystery of Carol Howe—a charismatic, wealthy former debutante turned white supremacist spokeswoman turned undercover informant. In 1995, Carol was spying on Oklahoma’s neo-Nazis for the government just when Timothy McVeigh blew up a federal building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people.

Jon Ronson Rocks
Revisado: 01-21-24
Jon Ronson is one of the finest investigative reporters working. This story, like others he has written stems from his book "Them" and tells a compelling and complex tale of the white supremacy movements and the American agencies tasked with investigating them. At core it is the all too common story of a young person struggling for self definition and her 15 minute of fame. Ronson is the best narrator of his own work and a pleasure to the ears.

Revisado: 07-28-21
I have a number of Hypnosis Live tapes, some of which are quite effective some not so much. This is one of their best, I've never heard the end of it. However, get the individual session and not the sleep bundle as, in the bundle, it is followed by the loud HL intro for the next session and will wake you right up.

It's easy to sit back and let jobs slide. But putting them off doesn't solve any problems. The chores pile up until you find it impossible to accomplish anything. It wrecks your schedule, messes up your head, and creates a home or office space that makes doing any kind of work a chore in itself. It's time to take yourself to task and get things done - with help from hypnosis.

There are a wealth of Hypnosis Live programs, some more effective than others. I own probably a dozen or more and find them anything from useless to life changing. this is one of my favorites.

What's the point?
Revisado: 08-08-19
While I suppose most of what the author presents is factual, or at least accepted fact, without samples of the music he's pontificating on this is pretty much pointless. How hard it expensive would it have been to add the samples? As an audio book this falls far from the mark. Don't bother.

Not for the creative.
Revisado: 08-08-19
This would be better titled, "Gerard Puccio's overview of other motivational speakers ideas on how a salesman might try to exploit the creative process". There is nothing here worth a creative thinker's time. It only about how to imitate creative thought. Like most in this field, Puccio mistakes productivity for creativity, substituting process methodology for actual generative effort.
That given, there's nothing wrong with what he says, they are strategies for the uncreative, and his voice is pleasant enough if utterly insincere.

Utter garbage, nearly as useless as can be!
Revisado: 09-24-18
I've read a lot of garbage in the "how to" genre in my time but this book is a low point. There is literally nothing here of use. Nothing relevant to GET nothing of use to even the most base of beginners. Shame on the author, the publisher, Audible for selling it, and me for not only buying it, but listening to it. Uck.

Historia
In chronicling the adventurous life of legendary CIA operative Edward Lansdale, The Road Not Taken definitively reframes our understanding of the Vietnam War. In this epic biography of Edward Lansdale (1908-1987) best-selling historian Max Boot demonstrates how Lansdale pioneered a "hearts and mind" diplomacy, first in the Philippines, then in Vietnam. It was a visionary policy that, as Boot reveals, was ultimately crushed by America's giant military bureaucracy.

Apparently morality meant nothing to either the subject or the author.
Revisado: 09-24-18
The author, like so many military biographers, fell in love with his subject and delivers up a revisionist wet dream of a love poem to him. A despicable subject poorly rendered, a waste of time and money.

Historia
A quiet, wealthy plantation owner, Jack Hinson watched the start of the Civil War with disinterest. Opposed to secession and a friend to Union and Confederate commanders alike, he did not want a war. After Union soldiers seized and murdered his sons, placing their decapitated heads on the gateposts of his estate, Hinson could remain indifferent no longer. He commissioned a special rifle for long-range accuracy, he took to the woods, and he set out for revenge.

Why do these biographies seek to change history? Isn't the subject worthy with out the revisionist apologetics?
Revisado: 09-24-18
Jack Hinson's story is fascinating as that of a man struggling with his antiquated belief system in a radically changing world, but this book is a sorry excuse of revisionist thinking and "what about"ism. Really? Do we need to debate whether the Civil War was about slavery or state's rights AGAIN? I doubt if one in a thousand confederate dead could even spell succession let alone comprehend what it meant. The war was about money and power with the slave owning rich manipulating the poor. This author has fallen in love with southern gentility and the antebellum BS of the modern era. I'm sorry, but owning someone, denying them their freedom, and selling off their family for your personal profit does NOT make them "like family". Hinson was a rich man whose sons blundered off in support of the Southern exploitative economy and died. The author dismisses slavery, abolition, and the entire socio-economic state of the nation and the states. He gives us yet more modern revisionist pap along the lines of the white power movement. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME.
