Historia
In July 1997, the first contestant voted off the first episode of the first ever reality TV elimination show took his own life. Expedition Robinson was the first show of its kind anywhere, and it was going to be remembered not for breaking the mold of television, but for a death, the first of at least 40 suicides linked globally to a reality TV show.

Excellent podcast. Great production, and Jaques does a fantastic job throughout! I won't say who I thought the voice belonged to when first listening, (though I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one to make the comparison,) but that should be taken as an immense compliment.
While not a fan of the "reality" tv genre as viewing entertainment, I admit I considered applying for the competition after seeing the first episode of Survivor. This podcast not only validates the misgivings that held me back, but also exposes facts, and moral atrocities far beyond what I imagined. The travesty is that these things can possibly continue even in the midst of our hypersensitive social climate.
Great job, and great listen!

Some people amass artwork. For others, it's stamps. But why would you want to collect the possessions of a serial killer?

I've been listening to Audible for years but only recently began branching out into podcasts and so far I've enjoyed many of the titles offered. Considering, this one was absent of reviews, I typically would have skipped it in favor of another but something told me to give this a chance. I'm glad I did. These two ladies did an outstanding job in all areas! In my opinion, Murderabilia is well produced, has an engaging subject, an balanced blend of humor vs solemnity, all without seeming to hold particular or judgment towards the subject matter. My only complaint is that the series was only six episodes, and over too quickly. Great work Poppy & Alice, keep it up, and I hope to hear more collaborations of this caliber to come!

Historia
Nobody knew where it came from. Nobody knew why it came. When an eight-foot-tall man made of stone appears in the middle of a busy city center one July afternoon, two-bit (and antisocial) reporter Andy Pointer assumes it's just a publicity stunt. Indeed, so does everyone else...until the Stone Man begins to walk, heading silently through the wall of the nearest building, flattening it, and killing several people inside as a result.

Engrossing & Original!

Its been too long since I've felt "the pull" of an audiobook like this one. Its fantastic when I find myself with the overwhelming urge to linger just a bit longer in the shower, getting out of the car or taking the long way home just for those few extra paragraphs. The narrator did an excellent job & I even enjoyed the author's personal message at the end which I've come to appreciate from other greats like Stephen King, Neil Gaiman to name a couple. Based on the what small amount I heard of Mr. Smitherd's voice he may even want to take another page of of those authors book (sorry, I'm not one for puns but...) and try narrating of his own art some point. Not that Matt Addis wasn't amazing as always, there's just very few authors that can effectively pull it off & I think this author could.
Regardless, I enjoyed The Stone Man more than I have the past few I've listened to and look forward to more of Luke Smitherd's works.
