The first two books in the series were amazing to follow, but I skeptical about the third book when my favorite character died at the end of book two. I wondered how the author could continue the brilliant reasoning and conversational power our late friend brought to the stories. He was the glue in so many ways. I finally got the third book after stewing on it for a while and was completely deflated by not only the over dramatic narration from almost every character (esp Vincent), eve’s weird accent and speech impediment, but the plot and ending. I almost stopped listening from the narration problems alone. The mystery of the robots being found and coming alive accompanied be the world politics of the discovery in the first two books was so captivating. Only to be ruined by the weirdness and overdetailed garbage plot that played out on the alien home world. Then we get a weird overdramatic father/daughter argument during the only good robot action scene in the whole book. I still highly recommend the first two books, however I wish I would have left the third one up to my imagination.

Bean is one of my favorite characters of all time. It's a thrilling story however I'm disappointed that the author had to use his characters to preach religious views
