Historia
He was the first person to inspire her, to move her, to truly understand her. Was he meant to be the last? Lucy is faced with a life-altering choice. But before she can make her decision, she must start her story - their story - at the very beginning. Lucy and Gabe meet as seniors at Columbia University on a day that changes both of their lives forever. Together, they decide they want their lives to mean something, to matter. When they meet again a year later, it seems fated - perhaps they'll find life's meaning in each other.

If it was a movie
Revisado: 03-17-18
If it was a movie I wouldn't see it. The ending is too real and too raw with emotion. I wouldn't be smiling as I left. But it is a good book. I was really half way through before I got pulled in. The selfishness and selfcenterdness of the characters made it hard for me to listen. But Ms. Santopolo's performance was excellent and as I continued to listen I became completely absorbed. In several years I would like to read the rest of the story.

Historia
As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children gripping a tree trunk in terror, wearing blood-filled sneakers, and unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours. Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret.

Reminds me of my home town , and I'm sure most small southern towns. The wonderful older ladies with manners, the crazy characters with their own idioms. and the loving priest, in my case pastor, that have lived in close proximity all their lives. Uplifting, endearing funny, warm and mysterious all at once. decided to read series before I read the latest one. So glad I did. Don't know how I've missed these all these years. But now I have a lot of good reads ahead of me. This book made me feel good. Not many do that anymore.

Another winner
Revisado: 10-18-17
Mr. Follett has done an amazing job of weaving a wonderful story with well researched facts. His love of espionage is evident. This fictional story is so masterfully Interwoven with the real story I had a hard time not believing all the characters were real. Having loved the 1st two novels I was skeptical a third could measure up but Mr. Follett you have proved my skepticism was unfounded. Thank you sir for a truly great read. Well worth the time required.

Historia
A pair of murders, a little romance, and rivals in pursuit of a long-lost vintage car of unfathomable value - Bruno, chief of police, is busy in another mystery set in the beautiful Dordogne. At an annual fete in St. Denis, Bruno's biggest worry is surviving in the rally race. The rally and a classic car parade are new to the festivities and draw a spate of outsiders with deep pockets, big-city egos, and, in the case of a young Englishman, an intriguing story. It's the tale of a Bugatti Type 57 Atlantic, lost somewhere in Southern France during World War II.

I loved this book. The Bugati story line much better than politics. Still hoping that Bruno finds true love!

A good story. Very interesting to read about Franco-Russian relations during Cold War. Add more of Bruno's wine, food and countryside and I'm a happy reader.

A little too much politics and agendas for my taste. The story line concerning Jewish children and the war could have been a story line to itself ....... in my opinion. Still a good book but not the best.
