Historia
From age 11, in 1974, until she left the show, in 1981, Melissa Anderson literally grew up before the viewers of Little House on the Prairie. Melissa, as Mary, is remembered by many as the blind sister - and she was the only actor in the series to be nominated for an Emmy. In The Way I See It, she takes listeners onto the set and inside the world of the iconic series created by Michael Landon, who, Melissa discovered, was not perfect, as much as he tried to be. In this memoir she also shares her memories of working with guest stars like Todd Bridges, Mariette Hartley, Sean Penn, Patricia Neal, and Johnny Cash.

Soooo boring
Revisado: 10-22-24
Not sure why Melissa Sue decided to describe various episodes from each season from beginning to end. Not what I was hoping for. I enjoyed Karen Grassle & Alison Arngrim’s autobiographies, especially Alison’s. This is just boring. Pretty sure with LHOTP being in syndication for years and years most people interested in an autobiography by one of the LHOTP cast members do not need to read how various episodes Ms. Anderson was featured in line by line. Plus, I know that there have been rumors of cast members clashing, she insinuates a few of these and it just comes off as snobbish. If you’re going to spill the tea, just spill it. One last grip, why didn’t Ms. Anderson narrate her own story. Just awkward and boring.

Historia
Everyone has wanted their favorite book to be real, if only for a moment. Everyone has wished to meet their favorite characters, if only for a day. But be careful in that wish, for even a history laid in ink can be repaid in flesh and blood, and reality is far deadlier than fiction...especially on Addington Isle.

New Narrator Please!

Perhaps this book would have been better with a different narrator. The narration made this book a tedious listen.

Historia
It is 997 CE, the end of the Dark Ages. England is facing attacks from the Welsh in the west and the Vikings in the east. Those in power bend justice according to their will, regardless of ordinary people and often in conflict with the king. Without a clear rule of law, chaos reigns. In these turbulent times, three characters find their lives intertwined.

Another Masterpiece
Revisado: 10-25-20
Of course when I finished this prequel, I had to listen to the trilogy again!! I love John Lee’s performance & Ken Follett has another brilliant novel to go along with the masterpiece that is the Kingsbridge series.

Historia
For years, young Mud and her family have roamed the high grasses, swamps, and deserts of the sub-Sahara. Now the earth is scorched by drought, and the mutilated bodies of family and friends lie scattered on the ground, shot down by ivory hunters. Nothing - not the once familiar terrain, or the age-old rhythms of life, or even memory itself - seems reliable anymore. Yet a slim prophecy of hope is passed on from water hole to water hole: the sacred white bone of legend will point the elephants toward the Safe Place.

Perhaps a different narrator?
Revisado: 08-14-18
I loved Karleen Koen’s first two novels but I can’t get through this one. It just never catches my attention. I find my mind wandering and I realize I have completely tuned the audio out. I do think I might have enjoyed this novel more with a different narrator. Ms. Peters seems like she is just reading, not really invested in her performance. Editing is not great either. Perhaps I will try reading this one rather than listen.

Historia
Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.
