Historia
On the surface, these seven women are as different as can be - but each has had her share of bad luck, from cheating husbands to sexist colleagues to a legal system that often doesn't do its job. Now, drawn together by tragedy, they're forging a bond that will help them right the wrongs committed against them and discover an inner strength they didn't know they had. The Sisterhood is learning that when bad things happen, you can roll over and play dead...or you can get up fighting...

Really bad choice of narrator
Revisado: 11-14-23
The narrator sounded like she was voicing a cheesy cartoon. She made the characters come off very differently than what I read on the page when I gave up listening to the narration and just read the book. There’s like 2 generations between the ages of most of the main characters as written and how they sound in the audiobook.

Irritating characters

I couldn’t find anyone to root for in this story. I disliked the main character and her interactions with the other characters.
As for the narration, do Swedes really sound like Dracula??

The narrator was dreadful!!!!
Revisado: 10-04-19
I really enjoyed the book but the narrator was dreadful!!! I will never listen to this narrator again. I found it so hard to focus on anything but her incredibly strange way of speaking. Surprisingly, I still enjoyed the characters despite the fact that I heard them through this voice. I might check out more from this author.

Historia
Sometimes the worst storms aren't from Mother Nature, and sometimes the worst nightmares aren't the ones in our heads. Mike Mitchell, an average New Yorker already struggling to keep his family together, suddenly finds himself fighting just to keep them alive when an increasingly bizarre string of disasters starts appearing on the world's news networks. As both the real world and the cyber world come crashing down, bending perception and reality, a monster snowstorm cuts New York off from the world, turning it into a wintry tomb where nothing is what it seems.

Historia
Chris Bathum was a respected therapist, addiction specialist, and founder of one of the fastest-growing rehabilitation chains in America. But Bathum was a total fraud: he was a homicidal meth-head with a history of sexually abusing his patients, scamming insurance companies, and eliminating whistle-blowers. Like Rose Stahl. But this intended victim would be his last. Stahl would risk her life to bring down the monster she and so many other people in need had once trusted for their salvation.

the narration was awful
Revisado: 06-06-19
For some reason they chose to use character voices for all of the quotes in the book. This was a really poor choice. If there was even just a one word quote in the middle of the sentence, the narrator would switch into character mid-sentence and it was pretty grating. I think for this type of book quotes should just be read in the normal narrative voice. To make matters worse, the character voices themselves were really bad, creepy, and breathy. And even though the narrator was male, most of the male voices were also done in his breathy female voice style. The narration almost gave this book a mock-u-mentary feel.
When checking out the blurbs for the books in this collection, this one, Bad Therapist, was the only one that caught my interest at all. It seemed like it would be the best of the bunch but I just found it pretty cringe-inducing.

love this narrator!
Revisado: 05-01-19
I just wanted to say it sounds like the narrator had so much fun with the drunk characters! It made me actually laugh out loud...while "reading" Crime and Punishment...at work. It motivated me to seek out other works he has narrated although unfortunately it doesn't seem he does much that I am interested in.

Historia
When she fell asleep, the world was doomed. When she awoke, it was dead. In the wake of a fever that decimated the earth's population - killing women and children and making childbirth deadly for the mother and infant - the midwife must pick her way through the bones of the world she once knew to find her place in this dangerous new one. Gone are the pillars of civilization. All that remains is power - and the strong who possess it.

frankly just wanted to give the narrator her props
Revisado: 04-30-19
I usually prefer male narrators to female narrators (this coming FROM a female) but this narrator was excellent. I was impressed right off the bat with her accents and character voices. (There were a couple of weak ones where the voice didn't match the given demographic but still overall very impressive.) The story also grabbed me from the beginning of Chapter 1 (after the prologue) although after awhile it did feel a bit rote, like we were just wandering around without aim or purpose instead of following a set story, and I was ready for it to end. As others mentioned (funny to see it bother other people!) the use of 'this equals that' really irritated me. I never set eyes on the written version so I just tried to imagine that it works on paper but orally it is really annoying. Although I don't think that, even had I been in the character's shoes, I would have used that method in journaling. I didn't realize this was part of a series until I came to review. I have absolutely no interest in continuing this series. It is fine as a standalone.

exciting and well narrated
Revisado: 04-18-19
Parts of it read like Jurassic Park the movie without the heavy science and technology of Jurassic Park the novel. The story has additional elements as well and of course Arthur Conan Doyle did it first. I was able to get through this in one day without getting bored or being tempted to switch to another book.
