Classic SEP! Two divas, one male one female. What could possibly go wrong? Classic Susan Elizabeth Phillips!

I sometimes wonder how this could ever happen. Great book raising awareness to how easy our rights could be lost. One law at a time. Showing the fight to get them back.

I read this story many years ago before and I loved it. It amazes me to think Paolini was only 16 when he wrote it. Later in the series his writing skills grow and mature. but Eragon is still a solid well written story in it's own right.

Unfortunately it took me a long time to get through this book in audio format because the voice over artist for some unknown reason chose to give one of my favorite female characters (Saphira) a growling grating ugly mans voice that was constantly distracting me from the story. Gerard Doyle's choice to do this perplexes me greatly as he seems to have a large range of voices and was able perfectly matched every other character in the book. Eventually I was able to get used to it but this one spent a very long time half listened to despite my love for the story and my desire to finish it.

This book starts with Robinton's birth and follows his life clear through the first chapter of Dragonflight. Not only does it give you new insights into the Master harper you see many other familiar characters in their youth. The reader even gets to meet Robinton's best friend F'lon father of F'lar and F'nor. You watch both boys impress their dragons through Robinton's eyes. Great book. There were lots of surprises.
