Historia
In a not-so-distant future, a deadly pandemic has forced the world into social isolation. Confined to their homes, millions now survive off drone-delivered food packages and online-only interactions. It’s an especially lonely life for John Chambers, a drone shipment coordinator for the monolithic Chum Corporation. Trapped in his dead-end job and having just turned 40, John’s started spending more time grinding in virtual reality MMORPGs than he does grinding for his real-world job--and that hasn’t gone unnoticed by human resources!

Well……
Revisado: 09-07-21
Ok. It is not “good”. I don’t know it is meant to be. But it IS … mostly… fun. As an tribute to old arcade and reference it gets plenty repetitive and sometimes detail focused on the wrong spots. But…. Ok. I listened to everything, performances were great, I had a good time, and I learned about the power of friendship…. Or something. Would buy #2.

Historia
The bestselling fitness book for men who want to gain 25-35 pounds of lean muscle and lose as much fat or more in just 3-5 hours per week—and without giving up delicious foods or doing grueling workouts. Is Bigger Leaner Stronger a body building book that can help you pack on brain-shrinking amounts of muscle in 30 days flat? No. Is it a fitness nutrition book full of dubious diet and exercise “hacks” and “shortcuts” for melting belly fat faster than a roided hornet? Absolutely not.

Get a narrator or read the book
Revisado: 03-04-21
There is nothing NEW in this book. It is the information we all know, put together well.
He does use some references, but also many anecdotal stories as evidence and opinions. He overloads on references at the beginning so you either trust he has done the research or don’t want to hear all the references later. To be clear, I believe his information is at least mostly correct.
The only thing really bad about this book is his reading of it. I swear he said all the words and then had a “text to speech” thing go through the book. It is terrible. It is hard to listen to. Probably the nicest best person to have a chat with, but should not narrate his own book.

No. Unless...
Revisado: 10-24-18
This is not a well written thing. It DOES make me want to play Diablo 3 or some other game with skill trees and classes and armor sets.
If you are 9-14 and a guy, probably a good buy. I would like to see this world/universe done more, but by someone else. I could really see liking this if it had a different editor who could guide it, or had someone like Larry Corea (sp?) co-write. Unfortunately most of the other reviews are correct. Promising , but with sub-par execution (I still think it would be a 9-14 year olds favorite book)

Better than expected
Revisado: 10-13-18
Interesting. Not a lot actually happens, this is not over the top (sexually) crap like some books that would appear similar. I never got remotely close to finishing wild waste as it’s performance and content are worse. This, the performer could use some work on voices and accents (everything is super different accents, Otherwise you might not be able to tell the characters a part) but he gets the Tone and intent dead on. He is good, but no Nick Podehl.

Historia
Gifted with meta-human powers, Tori Rivas kept away from the limelight, preferring to work as a thief in the shadows. But when she's captured trying to rob a vault that belongs to a secret guild of villains, she's offered a hard choice: prove she has what it takes to join them or be eliminated. Apprenticed to one of the world's most powerful (and supposedly dead) villains, she is thrust into a strange world where the lines that divide superheroes and criminals are more complex than they seem.

Ok, good enough value
Revisado: 05-04-18
To keep it short, it was kind of like a Chinese buffet. Neither the story, nor the narration were particularly great. It was rather predictable, and the characters were a bit flat. But there was a lot of it, and all of it was at least OK. If the next book is as long, I would probably pick it up. If I had credits and nothing else I was really craving was coming up.

If you love Superman and musical theater, buy it.
Revisado: 12-07-16
It is a compelling idea overall, and I would love to see this world built and ideas explored, by a different author.
PRO:
Compelling/New magic system
World has lots of potential
Nick Podehl does great
CON:
The main character is not relateable, nearly flawless.
pretty young, what 23, 25?
super strong - more than anyone else
super smart - more than anyone else
super dexterous - as much as anyone else
super talented - at apparently everything
Way to much time spent on pining over a girl he TRIES to make "0" progress with.
Too much time talking about how pretty and nice to watch the other male characters are.
With the 2 above statements, i admit, I have a hard time telling orientation here. I would be happy if it went one way or the other really, either. But it got so frustrating reading where he just doesn't do anything.
Nothing really surprising or new with the book, outside of the world.
The world was not really explored. There is some threat that might be a global threat (not entirely sure how big the threat is), but I think the kingdoms (if there are multiple) are all cool and happy with each other.

Historia
John Lithgow has compiled an outstanding collection of memorable poems and has gathered his famous friends to read them. The wide variety of carefully selected poetry in this audiobook provides the perfect introduction to reel in those who are new to poetry, and for poetry lovers to experience beloved verses in a fresh, vivid way. Lithgow offers insightful and sometimes poignant commentary to accompany each poem. His essential criterion is that "each poem's light shines more brightly when read aloud".

What a wonderful audio book. Some great poems, great narration and additional comments by Mr. Lithgow, and wonderful selection. It is great to listen to while driving, and being able to quote some poetry now and then is always a plus. (Even my three year old knows some of "To a mouse", and loves it)

MORE please!
Revisado: 08-09-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Great performance, great story, very deep and connected in the same ways Jordan was. Has all the elements you want, huge world problems, country wide conflict, and the personal stuff. Easily recommended, now we just need MORE of this story.
Any additional comments?
If anyone is still reading, this story and world would work FANTASTIC to turn into movies. Way better than Wheel of Time would. I love and will always love WoT, but there is no great way to put weaving into a movie AND have it not look dumb. This world however, Yes please.

Revisado: 06-22-16
Ok, so not John Ringo, but in a good way. This is one of the most fun books I have read. Same military action, and super lucky main character, less BDSM and porn than Ringo. So great, and super fun.
Performance was the best I have heard on Audible. Super well done.

Worth it, if it is for killing time
Revisado: 11-06-15
Would you try another book from Edward W. Robertson and/or Tim Gerard Reynolds?
Authorship..... not stellar. Performance, well done.
What was most disappointing about Edward W. Robertson’s story?
The characters were all the same. All predictable. All had the exact same since of humor and timing.
What about Tim Gerard Reynolds’s performance did you like?
He did a very good job reading. Each voice was distinct. You didn't need to have it explained who was saying what.
Could you see The Cycle of Arawn being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
no... please no
Any additional comments?
Good for killing time while driving. The humor was all the same. You could usually predict pretty darn close what the next lines would be, or next quip, after anything was said. But it was not Bad. It shouldn't win any awards, but to get it for a credit, and listen to it for a month during commutes.... I don't regret the buy.
