Historia
When a high-conflict person has one of five common personality disorders - borderline, narcissistic, paranoid, antisocial, or histrionic - they can lash out in risky extremes of emotion and aggression. And once an HCP decides to target you, they're hard to shake. But there are ways to protect yourself. Using empathy-driven conflict management techniques, Bill Eddy, a lawyer and therapist with extensive mediation experience, will teach you to spot warning signs of the five high-conflict personalities in others and in yourself.

Great read
Revisado: 04-12-24
I loved this so much, not only was is easy to follow and understand but I love that he reminds us to remain self aware so that we don't also become high conflict people. And I loved that he references Gavin DeBeckers The Gift of Fear, one of my favorite all time reads and it's saved my life before.

The moral of the story is great. But...
Revisado: 02-01-22
Many times I wanted to stop reading this. There's so much rambling and filler parts, pointless nattering and occasional liberal overtones. The narrator is difficult to listen to. She emphasizes when a person states the other names, every single time. Other than that, the moral of the story is very good.

Great sex scenes! a bit disturbing on other areas, difficult to listen to some of the more grim scenes. Not the strongest ending, but overall pretty good book.

Following a patch of doubt and subsequent in-depth investigation into the religion, the young man began to realize that the things he had previously accepted without question no longer made sense.

100% truth.
Revisado: 09-03-17
Wow 100% truth. I relate to so much of this story. Jehovah's Witnesses need to be exposed and the victims need to know there's support. This is a doomsday cult run by rich white Americans. I really love how this book exposes that fact.

Parenting Without God is for parents who lack belief in a god and who are seeking guidance on raising free thinkers in a Christian-dominated nation. It will help parents give their children the tools to stand up to attempts at religious proselytization, whether by teachers, coaches, friends, or even other family members. It also offers advice on teaching children to question what others tell them and to reach their own conclusions based on evidence and reason.

Great book, but highly liberal.
Revisado: 09-02-17
I enjoyed this book very much. The only thing I didn't like was his highly liberal stand and American shame. America does have a shameful past but I don't think we should show disgust for this country just because some of us didn't choose to live here. Also, I don't think holding doors for women should be scoffed at. But I do agree with teaching kids to hold doors for anyone. Other than that, I enjoyed the tips and experiences he discusses. I feel more motivated to be an "out" atheist mom.

Any additional comments?
I loved loved loved this book. I bought it on Amazon and then downloaded the audible. Dr Fuhrman is very convincing, educating, and encouraging. I loved his straight foward easy to understand presentation. He tends to be quite redundant but that is okay with me because it helped me to retain the information much much better. I also loved the narrators voice and especially the way she says "beans" and "cheese". But I digress. Very easy to listen to. I am putting this book to work for my family immediately.
