I love these books, I read them paperback and then audio and still love the story. I'm not sure if authors read these reviews but if so the only thing preventing a 5 star is the recaps. Yes recaps are cool for people who read a series middle out but it breaks the immersion in the book when listening audio. If the reminders of past books were a bit more subtle this series would be among my favorites.
Over all very capturing tale of redeemed souls and the possibilities of our futures for good or bad.

I love these books

I love this series have read it through on paperback and fell in love with audio books. I tried this series out and loved it much. I do believe there were a few glitches in the recording though. :) as for the writing beyond the first initial fairy tale I believe the author has done admirably if one is looking for a fantastical tale reaching for the unknown rather than the ordinary reaching for the known world

An amazing story told a little too harshly making it come across a bit too ordinary and military which was not all the written words held. A bit of a disappointment since I love this book. The narrator makes this book seem military which is great but looses the more than ordinary aspect to it making it seem too mundane and without feeling.

Inner fight

This is a bit darker than the earlier two books of the series, but I must say it grasps more about the fight with our inner darkness and the path to redemption than the pure beacon of incorruptible light and strength of her pervious two books. Juliet Mariller masters this as does Heather O'Neill a very powerful performance of two great artists if you open your mind to the classic idea of fairy tale *bows to you two*
