Music, Motor Vehicles, Fun Characters
Revisado: 07-16-24
Big fan of the performance, it brings a quirky SF story and its characters to life. In this novel a man reads his mentally ill mother’s journals that are full of UFO conspiracies and nu-age spiritual delusion, but through some strange experiences he begins to understand her outlandish ideas. Beyond the emotional core, this is a well-paced action-packed novel about simple things that connect us: music, TV, dogs, and cars. Oh, and clandestine government hitmen of course.

Award-winning author, narrator, and screenwriter Neil Gaiman personally selected this book, and, using the tools of the Audiobook Creation Exchange (ACX), cast the narrators and produced this work for his audiobook label, Neil Gaiman Presents. In this exciting new "illuminated production", the author herself reads her own work, supported by a full cast.

Characters & Performance
Revisado: 11-27-23
Kushner’s characters are incredibly well-realized, and she is skilled enough where her audience understands what lies beneath motivations of characters like the Max Duke even when the narrator/others do not. These fantastic characters are larger than life, and magnified with brilliant performances. One of the finest audiobook experiences of my life!

Historia
Football has come to the ancient city of Ankh-Morpork - not the old-fashioned, grubby pushing and shoving, but the new, fast football with pointy hats for goalposts and balls that go gloing when you drop them. And now, the wizards of Unseen University must win a football match, without using magic, so they're in the mood for trying everything else.

The Names Alone
Revisado: 12-01-22
In Pratchett’s works, the names of the characters alone imbue them with life and serve as the first hint of the relentlessly ironic humor that is the hallmark of Pratchett’s writing. This performance of Unseen Academicals accentuates the quirks of each colorful inhabitant by creating a unique voice for each. This is worth your time—it actually made me laugh out loud at points, Highly recommend!!
