Historia
The New York Times best-selling author and master of the modern mystery returns with a fierce and poignant new novel featuring his acclaimed killer-for-hire, Keller. John Keller is everyone's favorite hit man. He's cool. Reliable. A real pro: the hit man's hit man. The inconvenient wife, the business partner, the retiree with a substantial legacy. He's taken care of them all, quietly and efficiently.

Another great installment
Revisado: 07-22-06
The first Keller book "Hit List" is my favorite audiobook of all time. This book is every bit as good BUT I will have to concede that I do like Robert Forster's reading better than the author's. That said, Mr. Block's reading is not that bad. It is just different.
I really like all the characters in these books. Keller and Dot are always saying funny things and making wisecracks and philosophical remarks, and Keller goes out, asseses the situation, makes a judgment and, well, does what he does best. There is violence in these books but it isn't the comic book type. Keller is truly a morally abiguous character. He murders people for money, yet he is thoughtful, he worries about the ramifications of what he does, and somehow he isn't a monster. He is clever. And so is Lawrence Block for making each one of these stories really come alive.
He doesn't have the best voice, that's true, but if you can get past that, you can enjoy some of the smartest storytelling you will ever find.

High quality material

This book is fantastic! Very intelligent writing that stands with the best of the genre. Mr. Leather`s characters live and breathe and we give a damn what happens to them. His villians are not all bad and the good guys have flaws.
In my opinion this author has a very unique voice, passionate and very fresh. I think he must really enjoy creating these characters and putting them in terrible situations.
You deserve to listen to this book. This book respects your intelligence. And it`s fun.

authentic, non-romanticized action
Revisado: 05-17-05
This is an "action" novel, though it is worlds away from the likes of Ludlum and his ilk. Though there is a lot less action than Ludlum would pour into his books (where the hero and a large breasted woman who speaks 40 languages blow up a ship and then beat up 20 fishermen before going to a cocktail party to expound on art and copy some high tech disk which would implicate high ranking govt. officials before going on a high speed chase on dirtbikes across France) If you like that kind of Danielle Steel for men, maybe this is not for you.
This story and all of Mcnab`s books are completely narrator driven and if you don`t sympathize with him you couldn`t possibly enjoy this book. There is really a sense of his vulnerability throughout, despite the fact that he is incredibly brutal. The book "Remote Control" is probably my favorite though it is not available in audio format.
Mcnab writes with humour and great attention to detail and there is quite a lot of action. Also I love the narrator`s voice and I couldn`t imagine another narrator reading this author. I also recommend Firewall.
