Basic Sweet Formula

I’ve liked all the books in this series so far. The best part being that they were included in the basic audible membership. I was just disappointed to find that the last book requires a credit which I do not have after down grading my membership so now I can’t listen to it. I guess that’s the “suck you in” market strategy…
All the books have used the same basic and predictable sweet formula; guy and girl get together, then break up over a misunderstanding and then get back together. I’m a sucker for a happy ever after though so I like it. My only real complaint is that the female narrator’s voice is just flat and somewhat emotionless unless she’s reading as another character.
Overall, I’ve enjoyed the series thus far. I drive a lot and they’ve been a good way to pass time.

Emotionless narration

I’d really liked this book when I read it several years ago and was excited to find it available on audible. However, I really didn’t care for the female narrator and found her voice to be flat and emotionless. Her pitch never varied or changed at all. I also wish that there had been a male narrator for the male parts.

I wanted it to hurry up and be done!

I listened to the first book in this series and like it, so I thought I’d follow up with this one. I really wanted to like it but just didn’t… Maybe to read it would’ve been better but to listen to it, I just wanted it to be over. I realize the characters were high school students so there’s the angsty drama but it just went on and on. I felt like there were too many sub plots instead of focusing on one. I’ve enjoyed other works by this author so I’ll give the next in the series a try and hope for the best!

Great swoon worthy listening!

I loved this series. I drive a lot hit work and listened to the series while commuting. Every time I got to my destination, I was sorry to have to turn the car off and looked forward to my return trip so I could resume.
The stories about the rockstars and the women who tamed them were swoon worthy with just enough backstory and angst to keep things interesting.

Loved it!

I loved this story and I loved the strength of Clementine. As always, I love anything Andi Arndt narrates. She does a wonderful job with all the characters and doesn’t “over man” the male characters like other narrators do. My only complaint in this book and the other one in the series is that the resolution and ending wrap up very fast once you get to that point. It’s not really a negative and doesn’t take away from my 5 star rating, just my observation.

I loved this story! It was cute and a great happy ending. As a bonus it was narrated by, my favorite, Andi Arndt. She was a great choice for this reading and I will read literally anything she narrates.

Horrible female narrator

I’ve already read this series about a year or two ago and enjoyed it but didn’t really remember a lot about it. I’ve started doing a lot of driving for my job and decided to download the audible versions to kill time in the car. I loved listening to The Deal but frankly couldn’t wait for this one to end! The story and the male narrator were fine but the female narrator was horrible. Her voice was so flat and uninteresting and when she voiced her friend it was like nails on the chalkboard. I will shy away from this narrator in the future!

I read this book many years ago and loved it. In fact I love all of the authors works.
I’ve been waiting over a year for the audible version and was so thrilled when it was finally available. However, I wish I would’ve read the reviews first because as soon as the story started I was disappointed!
I can certainly respect the narrator’s talent but she was not the best pick for this work. Shanna is supposedly a 19 year old girl and I felt like I was listening to Angela Lansbury tell a story. Why in the world would the author chose an obviously older narrator?! I also feel like the story would’ve read better in dual narration with a male counterpart as there were a lot of different male characters.
I finished it because I paid for it and loved the original story but, for me, it was just “ok.”
I learned my lesson and will read the listener reviews going forward.

Disappointing

A very disappointing ending to a very disappointing series. I usually enjoy works by this author but not this one. I kept purchasing the next book hoping it would be better but it didn’t. The first 4 books could’ve really been condensed but I guess they were dragged out to get us to spend more money. The meet, fall in love and married within a week thing of all 4 siblings was just silly and unrealistic. The final book, the “conclusion” wasn’t really a conclusion at all and too many questions were left unanswered. With all the Wolf Family money, the siblings couldn’t find the oldest brother…really…? As I said, very disappointing series and I’m sorry I wasted credits on it. Please don’t! The one redeeming quality was that I liked the voices of the narrators and thought they did a good job.

Not my favorite…

I’ve read and listened to many other works by this author and this just wasn’t my favorite. I wanted to like it and thought the story line had potential but I was just left unfulfilled. There was so much time spent on the different character story lines but I just didn’t feel like they all came together cohesively and the ending seemed rushed. The quick epilogue wrap up seemed almost like a forgotten after thought. Maybe the book was a better read but I was just disappointed with it as an audible.
