Historia
The body of world-famous journalist Jeanette Thiels is discovered the day after Christmas, frozen in a snow-covered garden just steps from her hotel on Sandhamn Island. Detective Thomas Andreasson finds it highly unlikely that it was some bizarre accident. After all, the relentless war-zone correspondent was no stranger to conflict and controversy - both professional and, of late, very personal. Who would want to see her dead is another story.

Series got better with each book
Revisado: 06-12-23
I am glad I stuck to this series - I found that the first 3 books concentrated on the personal lives of Thomas and Nora too much with the murders more a side story. This one was much better with the murder in the forefront instead
Still wish Nora’s personal take more a back seat - just don’t understand why she is so important to the stories other than being Thomas’ best friend and resident of sandhamn

New York City, 1899. Tillie Pembroke’s sister lies dead, her body drained of blood and with two puncture wounds on her neck. Bram Stoker’s new novel, Dracula, has just been published, and Tillie’s imagination leaps to the impossible: the murderer is a vampire. But it can’t be - can it? A ravenous reader and researcher, Tillie has something of an addiction to truth, and she won’t rest until she unravels the mystery of her sister’s death.

Typical for the author
Revisado: 11-20-22
I have read several of Kang’s books - this is very typical. She had great mystery concepts for her stories but the story moves extremely slow to get to the end. Every book tangents off in all directions regarding the main character - her stories spends most of the time building the circumstances around the character instead of moving the story line to solve the mystery. So of 11 hours to finish listening to the book - I would say the mystery solving is about 2 hours!!! Extremely frustrating for me but since I started the mystery- I had to finish it to know the whodunnit! I am certainly a glutton for punishment as I have read several books. If you ask me whether I like her - I am torn!

A slow burn
Revisado: 10-30-22
I almost gave up on this book as the story line was a bit slow - glad I didn’t - it is a slow burn to a great ending to the mystery

Historia
Washington, DC: Twin brothers are found drowned in a Perspex box, one gagged and strapped to a chair. It's the latest in a series of cruel and elaborate murders with two things in common: the killer has left a family history chart at each crime scene, and the victims all have a connection to genealogical sleuth Jefferson Tayte. Hoping his insight and expertise will help solve the case, the FBI summon Tayte back to the capital. But as he struggles to crack the clues, the killer strikes again - and again.

Improbable Story
Revisado: 01-23-22
The story was not believable - how could a woman who is so naive and has so much self doubt be a believable spy in the occupied territory
The story dragged with too much narrative of her feelings and insecurities
