Don’t bother
Revisado: 01-29-24
I didn’t like the narrator especially when she tried to talk in a male voice. This story is ridiculous and I’m sorry I wasted my time with it. I finished it given all the great reviews but the storyline just got more ridiculous as it went on.

Kennedy - why the brothers needed to die and how rogue intelligence agents orchestrated history’s most infamous conspiracy. Nolan furthers the research of leading scholars who agree that there remain serious unanswered questions regarding the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy.

Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

Underwhelming
Revisado: 04-06-22
The narration was stilted and the voice sounded juvenile.
The writing was too basic and underwhelming.
The story was predictable. All the elements of a fiction writing checklist were ticked off - love, tragedy, triumph, regret but it still made for a dull read.

Historia
When award-winning actor, producer, and international icon Gabriel Byrne was a young boy, his grandmother brought him to the cinema for the first time. There, Byrne fell in love with the transporting power of the big screen. Growing up in 1950s and 60s Dublin within a family of eight, Byrne's formative childhood years were both carefree and challenging, spent between home, the church, school, and the streets of his ever-changing city.

A poignant memoir that is at times funny and heart wrenching. A very intimate and personal look back on an extraordinary life. As someone who grew up in Dublin this book was a lovely piece of nostalgia. It was even better to hear it read by the author. Loved it! Highly recommended!

Historia
The defense of human rights is often marked by ethical dilemmas, which are especially acute in Israel, where lawyers have for decades sought redress for the abuse of Palestinian rights in the country's High Court - that is, in the court of the abuser. In The Wall and the Gate, Michael Sfard chronicles this struggle - a story that has never before been fully told - and in the process engages the core principles of human rights legal ethics.

Thorough analysis
Revisado: 06-28-21
A thorough analysis of the tedious and at times disheartening work of human rights lawyers. Kudos to Mr. Sfard and all the other lawyers for their relentless pursuit of justice. Also an enlightening recounting of the disregard of Israel for international law and regretfully the mostly unconditional support of the US. Well written and highly recommended.

Historia
In this brilliant book, Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings. Beautifully written, original, and revealing, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is an eye-opening story of people and history, and a reexamination of what lies under the surface of ordinary lives and of American life today.

Enlightening
Revisado: 05-17-21
This is one of those books that will stay with me for a long time. The personal anecdotes were meaningful and enlightening. The history was disturbing. So smart to compare racism in the US to the caste system in India. The similarities are undeniable. I think I have been enlightened by this. Thank you

Rewriting history
Revisado: 05-04-21
This book seems to be an act of contrition for the former speaker. He harshly criticizes the most prominent of Republican bad actors of recent times but conspicuously omits those who had the most lasting, insidious and widespread impact like Limbaugh, Hannity and Gingrich. Boehner’s revisionist history is laughable as he recalls Obama’s vow to work with Republicans but I guess he forgot McConnell’s vow to make Obama a one term president. The devout Catholic who was so moved by the US visit of Pope Francis had no qualms, Christian or otherwise, of obstructing and later dismantling a healthcare plan for millions of people who needed it. Boehner reassures us throughout that he is a good and moral politician but his actions belie this.
His narration is stilted and he seems ill at ease reading his own material. This is truly a work of audacious fable.

Historia
When he opened the FBI investigation into Russia’s election interference, Peter Strzok had already spent more than two decades defending the United States against foreign threats. His career in counterintelligence ended shortly thereafter, when the Trump administration used his private expression of political opinions to force him out of the Bureau in August 2018. But by that time, Strzok had seen more than enough to convince him that the commander in chief had fallen under the sway of America’s adversary in the Kremlin.

Best Trump book
Revisado: 10-14-20
Of the many Trump books that I have read this is by far the best. It is thorough with meticulous attention to detail which I suspect is how Strzok performed as an FBI agent. It also reaffirms similar accounts from Comey, McCabe and many others.
After reading this I feel an overwhelming sense of loss for all of the dedicated, talented and patriotic public servants who have been so vindictively treated by this crime boss in the White House.

Historia
What really happened to TWA 800? On the 20th anniversary of the crash, author Jack Cashill reveals shocking new evidence. TWA Flight 800 crashed into the Atlantic shortly after takeoff from JFK Airport on July 17, 1996, killing all 230 passengers onboard. Although initial reports suggested a terrorist attack, FBI and NTSB investigators blamed a fuel-tank explosion. But skeptics have long questioned the official story, and new evidence has surfaced that suggests a widespread conspiracy.
