Full of Terror and Wonderment
Revisado: 11-09-21
Great story for children who like creepy things and adventure. The writing is very descriptive and creates vivid images. Nothing is too inappropriate for children, about the same level as GooseBumps.

Historia
Ernest Hemingway said, “All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn". One hundred years after its author’s death, this classic remains remarkably modern and poignantly relevant. In this new edition, Elijah Wood reads Huck in a youthful voice that may be the closest interpretation to Twain’s original intent. His performance captures the excitement and confusion of adolescence and adventure.

Masterful Narration

A classic
Revisado: 05-15-19
In school they always have you read Tom Sawyer. However, I beleive Huck Finn is equally rich with comentary and clever satire of America. Particualry when it came to how people handled fueds and slavery. Huck Finn is a flawed person, but thats what makes him interesting to read about, he's not an ideal reflection of a human being but a realsitic one when one considers the context of the world he lived in.

Historia
Philosophy professor Christina Sommers has exposed a disturbing development: how a group of zealots, claiming to speak for all women, are promoting a dangerous new agenda that threatens our most cherished ideals and sets women against men in all spheres of life. In case after case, Sommers shows how these extremists have propped up their arguments with highly questionable but well-funded research, presenting inflammatory and often inaccurate information and stifling any semblance of free and open scrutiny.

Historia
In The Blank Slate, Steven Pinker, one of the world's leading experts on language and the mind, explores the idea of human nature and its moral, emotional, and political colorings. With characteristic wit, lucidity, and insight, Pinker argues that the dogma that the mind has no innate traits, denies our common humanity and our individual preferences, replaces objective analyses of social problems with feel-good slogans, and distorts our understanding of politics, violence, parenting, and the arts.
