Not Atwood's Best
Revisado: 11-16-14
I have in the past enjoyed Margaret Atwood books. I like the style of her writing and her character development. The problem with the handmaid's tale is that it was a an 11 hour book with about an hour of story. With all the positive reviews I was sure the story was going to improve if I just kept listening, but it never went anywhere. I would save your credit for another book and if you are a Margaret Atwood faithful maybe choose to read this one so you can skim over the monotony!

Introspective!
Revisado: 10-13-14
It took me a couple chapters to get into this book. I enjoy Liane Moriarty and her writing style and Tamara Lovatt-Smith has a lovely voice but it seemed a little slow and drawn out in the beginning. After a while I was hooked. I will have to say you can skip your next self help book, this is better than all of the marriage seminars and self help books I have ever attended or read. You can not help but stop and think about your life and the choices you are making and the relationships that you are involved in. You can't help but say to yourself, "would my 25 year old self like my 35 year old self? Would I like who I have become and what I am doing with my life?." I do feel men might not enjoy this book as much as a woman, especially a woman with a family. All in all well worth the listen and full of witty humor.

Valentino's travels, truly Biblical in scope, bring him in contact with government soldiers, janjaweed-like militias, liberation rebels, hyenas and lions, disease and starvation, and a string of unexpected romances. Ultimately, Valentino finds safety in Kenya and, just after the millennium, is finally resettled in the United States, from where this novel is narrated.

Good read

I think this book is one of those books that everyone should read. Sometimes we forget that in our spoiled American lives there is another reality out there. This book was well written. I also really enjoyed the narration-great voice and personality!

excellent read
Revisado: 12-09-09
I really enjoyed Love's Pursuit. It has a well defined plot and great character development. Historical fiction is a favorite of mine and Siri Mitchell does a fantastic job with this one. I did not want the story to end. In fact if I was to have a negative comment about this book it would be that the book could have used a couple more chapters :)!

Good but slow
Revisado: 12-09-09
As always Wanda Brunstetter puts together a very well written story. This one was not one of my favorites. Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed it, but the beginning was really slow. I found myself wishing she would just get on to the climax of the story. I might have liked it more if I had read book 1 of the series and had a little more back ground into the characters. I will still continue to listen to her books.

Wonderful
Revisado: 09-06-09
"The Forgotten Garden" is an extremely well written book. The narration by Caroline Lee is also very well done. Although her male interpretations are not the best, you can still get lost in her beautiful voice. The characters are well formed and the story, although long, keeps you engaged and wanting more. Beware though, because I had a very hard time putting my ipod away and getting anything else done:). I would highly recommend this audio book and it will go on my personal list of favorites.
