I love John Grisham. Every book is on the same subject but so different everytime. This one was a page turner. I didn't want to get out of the car each day (I listen on the way to work and home each day). Great narration, great story, predictable ending, but still felt complete at the end.

I'm not political at all. I know about politics and current events, but never get in heated arguments about anything. So I was skeptical about liking this book. I thought it was great. At first, I thought the stories were kinda all over the place. But, now I think it was well organized. He had so many stories to tell, he had to stray somewhat to fit them all in. Great stories and great behind the scenes info. About the narrator, thank goodness the iphone app lets you increase the speed. I had the guy on 3x. He talked really slow.

Laugh out Loud

Lots of mixed reviews. So here's my take, it was funny. It's nice to take a break from historical or suspense books and listen to a book that will make you laugh by yourself in the car. And I totally disagree about the narrator. There is nothing funnier than the author laughing to hard to tell the story. Drew Carey does the same thing in his book narrations It's like Jimmy Fallon on SNL never being able to keep a straight face. And about the book being "raunchy and disgusting", what kind of book did you think you were getting with the title being "I hope they serve beer in hell". That's why they give you a 5 minute preview. He wrote the stories how people his age tell stories with their friends. Good stuff.

I typically read crime novels or suspense thrillers. This was a nice change of pace to laugh out loud in the car while listening. And I have to disagree about the narrator. I loved his delivery, especially his French accent.
