Satisfying to read a book that can rise above entrenched ideas and present data that conflicts with broadly defended ideas that have led to confirmation bias limiting our understanding of discoveries that don’t reinforce what has been perceived as known facts.

This is a great book about hope and the ability of a service dog to save lives. My only annoyance with this book was that it presents evidence throughout of the dog saving and changing a young girl with Type 1 diabetes' life and then at the end, it Speed doubt about it being verifiable! So strange. Other than that it is a great story about a family, the challenges of diabetes and about social responsibility in a family that takes civic duty seriously. Very inspiring.

So great! Fascinating premise well executed! Was sad when it ended, which is the hallmark of a great tale.

Totally entertaining book that kept me engaged on a 14 hour road trip. Funny and light but worth the time.

Humans are just scratching the surface of exploring the capacities that animals have to think and feel. It's a shame that so many people would find Virginia morels research surprising. We have been treating the creatures that we share the world with with such disregard and disrespect for so long. The idea that the world is our dominion and that we have the right to treat it as we wish with no regard for creatures other than ourselves is foolhardy and blind to the beauty and majesty around us. I recommend this book to animal lovers and non-animal lovers everywhere

Delightful to listen to, just a joy. I should have named one of my dogs that. Wish I had them now.

Pohler's straight-forward style is self-effacing and introspective enough to be genuine, while not pretending to be profoundly deep or insightful. A light, enjoyable, digestible and familiar feeling read, especially for comedy lovers. Left me liking her more than I already had and with a newfound respect for the breadth of her career and talents.
