Historia
In the process of searching for Pinch, a long-lost mythic figure who has attained a talismanic status, Gibs has resorted to making a living doing contract work with his friend Alan, the young man who followed him out of the Wyoming commune. Hired by a family as escorts on a cross-country trip to Texas, they are ambushed by a group of raiders. The family is captured, children and all, and Gibs and Alan are left behind with only some pistols, a handful of bullets between them, and no food or water to speak of.

I absolutely love this communion series. No zombies, no aliens, just simply mankind going to hell in a handcart and those who survived trying to make their way in the world. The characters are absolutely believable and the situations gripping.

Nice resource but loses focus easily
Revisado: 01-28-23
This is an interesting podcast. I would not say that it is completely useless because my wife and I have certainly gained some information from it. If I were able to cut out the 40% of content that seems to be nothing more than inside knowledge of personal trips, it would be much more worthwhile. for a podcast that is supposed to be focused on traveling, and therefore meaning focused on people who are not familiar with the local area, geography, infrastructure, and other such things; It would be much more beneficial if more things were explained in detail when first mentioned. Something as simple as a road name completely foreign to someone who has never visited the UK for example. I don't want to be completely negative in my review because as I said this has been beneficial in some regards but I would be doing a disservice to the producer if I didn't make the points I am trying to make to perhaps give them insight into making a more usable product.

Historia
Slough House is a dumping ground for British intelligence agents who've screwed up cases in any number of ways - by leaving a secret file on a train or blowing a surveillance. River Cartwright, one such "slow horse", is bitter about his failure and about his tedious assignment transcribing cell phone conversations. When a young man is abducted and his kidnappers threaten to broadcast his beheading live on the Internet, River sees an opportunity to redeem himself.

Great if you can tolerate the beginning
Revisado: 10-20-22
I have around 780 books in my audible library, and this is the first one I've considered shutting off and deleting after the first 5 minutes. Perhaps if I read more into the series, I will find why they found it necessary to spend the first third of this book meandering back and forth between descriptions of characters. Overall the book is quite excellent but it is certainly marred by what I consider a terrible beginning. The summary, if you would like to know and want to continue reading.....
is this, there is a band of misfit rejects from the intelligence agency in England who one of which stumbles across a plot they're not meant to be involved in yet they decide to pursue this plot and eventually foil it. Intermixed among that simple plot or some very interesting characters and situations none of which deserve the first third of this book.

For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

What an amazing work of art. This book will take you through a series of emotions and thoughts as rapidly as the tide licks the sand. It's a gripping story of a young girl overcoming tremendous odds at every turn and becoming the person everyone wants to be.

Historia
Stryker Company always brings the fight, but when they relieve embittered and embattled Republic marines, they find an enemy unwilling to stand up and face them. Tasked with protecting the Republic's interests on a mining world, the legionnaires face roadside ambushes, double-dealing locals, and constant sabotage. And the mission isn’t as straightforward as they thought it would be. As skirmishes escalate into coordinated ambushes, two squad leaders, Talon and Lankin, are forced to chase after the sparks threatening to ignite the entire populace into a full-blown insurgency.

Great story and did pretty good narrator

This is another great story in the Galaxy's Edge series. I only deduct one star from the performance because it feels like the narrator oftentimes forces accents that simply do not sound natural

This may be one of the simplest reviews anyone has ever read. I have listened to a considerable number of audiobooks and I can say beyond the shadow of a doubt the only other series that has engrossed me more than the Expeditionary Force Series is the Game of Thrones the series.

Since the days of conquistador Hernán Cortés, rumors have circulated about a lost city of immense wealth hidden somewhere in the Honduran interior, called the White City or the Lost City of the Monkey God. Indigenous tribes speak of ancestors who fled there to escape the Spanish invaders, and they warn that anyone who enters this sacred city will fall ill and die.

Historia
Two men, each handsome and unusually adept at his chosen work, embodied an element of the great dynamic that characterized America’s rush toward the twentieth century. The architect was Daniel Hudson Burnham, the fair’s brilliant director of works and the builder of many of the country’s most important structures, including the Flatiron Building in New York and Union Station in Washington, D.C. The murderer was Henry H. Holmes, a young doctor who, in a malign parody of the White City, built his “World’s Fair Hotel” just west of the fairgrounds.

this book helped me in its grasp the entire time. it's a fascinating tale of a serial killer woven through myriad fact and a delightful story of how many people worked together to bring about a World's Fair that defined much of what the United States became after.
