Historia
The impossible has happened. Chief Inspector Reg Wexford has retired. He and his wife now divide their time between Kingsmarkham and a coachhouse in Hampstead belonging to their actress daughter, Sheila. For all the benefits of a more relaxed way of life, Wexford misses being the law. But a chance meeting in a London street, with someone he had known briefly as a very young police constable, changes everything. Tom Ede is now a detective superintendent, and is very keen to recruit Wexford as an adviser on a difficult case.

I enjoyed listening
Revisado: 11-30-11
Although, this Ruth Rendell mystery does not rank as one of my favorites - I thought the storyline was engaging and felt the narrator did an excellent job.

Historia
Bossy, impulsive, yet hopelessly romantic, Agatha is dreading the upcoming marriage of her ex-husband, James Lacey. Although she has set her sights on a handsome and beguiling new Frenchman, she can't quite stop obsessing about James. Her best intentions to move on with her life are put on hold when James's young bride is shot to death just minutes before saying "I do" and Agatha is named the prime suspect.

Narrator
Revisado: 11-01-09
I was disappointed that Penelope Keith was used as the narrator. Donada Peters does such an excellent job that it just isn't Agatha Raisin without her. The story was very good - but it was just not as enjoyable with a new narrator.
