Historia
In a small village in New York, mob bosses from all over the country - Vito Genovese, Carlo Gambino, Joe Bonanno, Joe Profaci, Cuba boss Santo Trafficante, Jr., and Paul Castellano - were nabbed by Sergeant Edgar D. Croswell as they gathered to sort out a bloody war of succession. For years FBI director J. Edgar Hoover had adamantly denied the existence of the Mafia, but Robert Kennedy immediately recognized the shattering importance of the Apalachin summit....

Something I Didn't Know
Revisado: 03-29-13
Would you try another book from Gil Reavill and/or Keith Szarabajka?
Yes. The book was well-enough written and Keith Szarabajka did a great job!
If you’ve listened to books by Gil Reavill before, how does this one compare?
I have not listened to his books.
Which character – as performed by Keith Szarabajka – was your favorite?
Again, Keith Szarabajka did a great job. I think the narrator is hugely important and love when they use subtle inflection to seperate characters without trying to do impersonation. All the caracters were done perfectly.
Did Mafia Summit inspire you to do anything?
I was inspired to research some newspaper articles on the topic. Again, it gave me knowledge and inspired me to seek more.

Historia
To this day, the LAPD, Los Angeles District Attorney’s office, mainstream media, and much of the world at large remain firmly convinced that O. J. Simpson literally got away with murder. According to private investigator William Dear, it is precisely this assuredness that has led both the police and public to overlook a far more likely suspect. Dear now compiles more than 16 years of investigation by his team of forensic experts and presents evidence that O. J. was not the killer.

Revisado: 03-07-13
Would you consider the audio edition of O. J. Is Innocent and I Can Prove It to be better than the print version?
Yes, because someone else reads it to me.
What did you like best about this story?
The narrator did a GREAT job. I loved the writing and the research done to compile the acts. Best of all, I liked that it did what it set out to do: Change my mind as to who killed Nicole & Ron.
Which scene was your favorite?
I think the interview with Dr. Henry Lee was great.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
I never even knew Jason was a suspect. I think he may be charged one day.

Just not Enjoyable
Revisado: 02-25-13
What would have made The Tangled Web better?
Another narrator. It had no inflection and even seemd like punctuation was ignored. If I had been told that the book was read by a computer, I would have believed it. I think it was an interesting story, but it was certainly lost in the delivery.
What was most disappointing about Michael Cain’s story?
The narrator.
Would you be willing to try another one of Clinton Wade’s performances?
No
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I think the story could have been great, but I couldn't get past the performance.

One of my Favorites
Revisado: 02-25-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. For anyone that likes true crime and is intrigued by clever "bad guys", this is a great read.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The King of Sting?
The great thing about this book is that there was no ebb an flow leading to that peak. The whole book was a flow and it was all very memorable.
What about Robin Bloodworth’s performance did you like?
His voice an inflection was wonderful and he made the characters come alive. The were subtle differences to their voices and tones, without sounding overdone, which carried throughout the book. One of my favorite listens.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I think there were sad moments, but for the most part, this was about clever and even witty criminals ripping off other criminals.

Historia
Two men, each handsome and unusually adept at his chosen work, embodied an element of the great dynamic that characterized America’s rush toward the twentieth century. The architect was Daniel Hudson Burnham, the fair’s brilliant director of works and the builder of many of the country’s most important structures, including the Flatiron Building in New York and Union Station in Washington, D.C. The murderer was Henry H. Holmes, a young doctor who, in a malign parody of the White City, built his “World’s Fair Hotel” just west of the fairgrounds.

One of the Best I have 'Read'
Revisado: 01-24-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book was completely fascinating from beginning to end and provided: drama, suspense, and a history lesson in a wonderful and entertainging manner.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the way Scott Brick delivered the reading and loved every part of it.
Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?
The book wasn't written to have huge character parts, but I think Scott did a great job delivering every piece. I will be looking for others read by Mr. Brick.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I think the last few weeks leading up to the fair and the vast amount of work to be done was awesome.
Any additional comments?
Great book. I don't rate 5 stars across the board very often, but this one is deserving!

Is there anything you would change about this book?
I think I was expecting something more than just the gradual death of the newspaper idustry. There were some interesting bits, but more a history lrsson than entertainment.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Over the years, there had to be some interesting stories and witty happenings. I would have highlighted a few more of these...
What aspect of Dale Connelly’s performance would you have changed?
It was fine.
Do you think Morning Miracle needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
