It has been 40 years since the publication of this classic science-fiction novel that changed the way we look at the stars and ourselves. Historia
Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

James Franco reads Vonnegut - Bravo !
Revisado: 11-23-19
I grew up watching the movie many times on cable and had read parts of the book but wanted to finally take in a full reading of Slaughterhouse-Five. When I saw James Franco listed as narrator, I was like, “THE James Franco ?” and “Will it work ?” It was amazing. I was in from the very beginning. Mr. Franco’s narration was convincing, powerful and transporting. Can’t wait to take in a few more listens. Thanks James Franco and Audible for re-introducing me Vonnegut !

A good book may have the power to change the way we see the world, but a great book actually becomes part of our daily consciousness, pervading our thinking to the point that we take it for granted, and we forget how provocative and challenging its ideas once were - and still are. The Structure of Scientific Revolutions is that kind of book.

Historia
Two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize David McCullough tells the dramatic story behind the story about the courageous brothers who taught the world how to fly: Wilbur and Orville Wright.
On December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Wilbur and Orville Wright's Wright Flyer became the first powered, heavier-than-air machine to achieve controlled, sustained flight with a pilot aboard. The Age of Flight had begun. How did they do it? And why?

David McCullough best narrator voice ever !
Revisado: 02-08-19
My first David McCullough book is The Wright Brothers. To have it narrated by McCullough himself makes it so special. He is my favorite narrator. I always connect on a much deeper level to the work when it is read by the author. Now I can’t wait to hear all the David McCullough Audible books available ! Thanks Audible

Historia
Leonardo da Vinci created the two most famous paintings in history, The Last Supper and the Mona Lisa. But in his own mind, he was just as much a man of science and engineering. With a passion that sometimes became obsessive, he pursued innovative studies of anatomy, fossils, birds, the heart, flying machines, botany, geology, and weaponry.

Superb.
Revisado: 01-13-18
Walter Isaacson is a master of biography I love to hear him open and close the work. Alfred Molina was amazing every word seemingly effortlessly spoken yet delivered with such care. Of all the books I've listened to, by some pretty amazing narrators, hands down, Alfred Molina is my favorite narrator, he made the Leonardo experience special. I can't wait to hear it again both to pick up on details I missed the first time and to hear velvet voice Molina !
